Anyone have problems with ice? Seems they didn't think about the folks in the frozen parts of the country.. My personal beefs.. factory fender flares fill with mud, mud freezes and clanks around while driving.. All of the front sensors freeze both outside and inside, wish I could disable them without the dash lit up like an Xmas tree.. (I can park, run normal cruse control, and drive I don't need or want any sensors...haha)

Anyway new on here, here's my 2220231226_110106.jpg 20231226_113514.jpg

havent had an issue with our platinum in ND, but then again everything is stock from the factory except the wheels/tires which dont affect any sensors compared to your aftermarket bumper.

Panama I have the same issues with the sensors when they get caked with road gunk in the winters, and havent found a great solution except ignoring the dash until I get to a stop and I can clear them off. I tried RainX which didnt help at all sadly.

Cant comment on the wheel wells, I dont have this issue thankfully in MN on my TRD Sport.

    Love your bumper btw!

Was doing it pre the bumper change..Didn't want to cut up a new truck but hit a deer.. So got a bumper I could hit deer with
    .
maybe the combo of creek crossings and freezing..

Living in New Brunswick Canada, you're not alone on the light situation. My dash pretty much looks like carnival ride every snow or ice fall, it's honestly painful to deal with, at this point I just shut off everything that I can.

    nice upgrade :)

i know aftermarkets tend to build up faster than oem since they have a rougher surface for snow to stick. even on my 14 4runner snow melting and sliding down the bumper i would get errors as it slid across the sensor.

not much you can do since it happens across the board for all makes/model/manufacturers.

only way i can see it being mitigated is if the sensors are angle top out bottom in or vice versa to get the wind to blow the snow off the sensor (sorta like how wings on wipers force them down to stick to the windshield better)

other options oems can do is either pop out wiper fluid washers, a mini hog ring to warm up the surrounding area to melt snow/ice, or a clear dome to cover the sensor to help keep snow/ice off the sensor.

We finally had a little snow in sw pa and my dash gave a warning about sensors being block and then it just disabled them automatically. I know toyota keeps it pretty simple to disable them at least for me.

Problem solved use this before winter storms or heading into snowy conditions.

Awesome share -Thanks. I hadn’t seen this Rain-X product but will find some. I’m sure in active heavy snowfall nothing will help except stopping and cleaning regularly

I'm in the middle of my first winter in Louisiana, and I can't say I've encountered the issues you described.

    This is the way.

We get a fair amount of wet, heavy snow here. Last winter, my truck would look like this often and the TSS system would be very unhappy. Since I started using RainX on my radar and sensors, it's helped quite a bit. It's not perfect, but I've 100% noticed a delay in snow the buildup on the TSS sensor up front.

Looks awesome I love the snow!
I hate to admit the suggestion for an optional heat coils around the sensors would be key.
    Just saying...

In all fairness, the ice in Maine can get bad. I lived there for almost five years. I had to break the ice off my 4Runner by hitting the vehicle with a shovel on more than one occasion. I hated not having a garage.

Maine is an amazing State,I have camped in that beautiful state for over 20 years the majority in the summer months but have camped in the winter was with zero amenities.
It has been always referred to as God's country.

I've had similar issues already where I live from the frozen mornings. Mainly just the front radar sensor and the cameras around the truck and in the windshield. My '20 Tacoma had similar issues with the front radar when blocked with snow/ice you just gotta keep it cleaned off. There's only so much you can do with all this tech when mother nature hits. Keep a good extendable brush/scraper in the truck.

Finally had some bad weather and the snow blocked all the sensors. After a couple of warnings the truck warning lamps already stated OFF on the dash. Also it was pretty easy to use the Hud to disable the pcs again later that day.

Had the pleasure of driving into the height of the storm that hit NE this past Sunday, it wasn't a bad storm but just enough to be a nuisances to just two of the four front bumper sensors.
The location on all four of these is in good even placement but the center two not so much,it's not flush like the two that are on the 22° angle of the outside portion of the bumper.
The center two ones are in a crevice that will harbor snow and eventually freeze and be a bitch to knock out when solid.
I don't know shit if these sensors are reading IR or frequency or respectfully what depth range,I was thinking maybe a lexan lens that will fit in that cavity and then use the Rain X to make it slick like the outer sensors.
Has anyone tried making something like this?
