crazy how different bottles are available in different areas. These are sitting on the shelf at my local Costco.

Meanwhile I can get Blanton's for $60 every Friday if I want to be one of the first 6 through the door at several high volume DABS locations.

So yeah, has a lot to do with whether or not your state allows private sales and if not, what do the state agencies source and make available.

I’ve thought this for a while. Cheaper to pay shipping and box up some good ones for friends. Just a running list of what people want and then if you see it locally you can get Venmo/PP and send it to em!

Hope that Heaven Hill is good. Only way I could get some was thru a friend who went to the distillery, pretty sure it was 65 a bottle there.

Well, Santa only has a few days left before going back into hibernation, but before I depart I thought I'd offer up a little suggestion for you to try...

I know you were looking for a 'scotch', but have you dabbled in any of Bushmill's upper-end whiskeys. Bushmills has been around since 1608 and since it's distilled in the northern coastal part of ireland and sources most of its grains from the same region (as opposed to Jameson which is more Dublin/southern based). It provides a more 'peaty' flavor profile, similar to a well balanced scotch, w/o the extreme 'punch' of peat that is commonly found (and sought after) by seasoned scotch drinkers when searching for a well-aged scotch.

If this is something you'd consider giving a go (if you haven't already), I'd recommend giving the Bushmills 16 year a try :santa2:

looks to be about $120-$140CAD :canada: if you're able to find it...

    https://www.whiskydrop.ca/products/bushmills-16-year-old

Let me know what you think

That sounds interesting. I haven't explored many Irish whiskeys. I'll add it to the list.

Having read everybody loves the CN-F rick house in the WT products I happened on one today in the Kentucky Spirit SiB and compared it to the A bottle I had. CN-F has all the classic WT nuttiness and grassy flavors up front, and the A bottle had almost none, A bottle wins for me.

I have seen this twice in the last week, yes curious to know what it is like. With very few exceptions I am not big on HH products so I haven't ever bought it.
