It's funny you should say that... I am that nerd. August of 2022, I paid +$1,000 for an un-opened box. I have no regrets, haha!

Also, check out “Rebrickable” - you can enter in the sets you have and it can find you MOC’s (my own creations) that you can build with he inventory you have.

It was also an awesome resource when we were doing our “great Lego inventory” in 2020. And they’ve got links to the other selling sites (like brickowl) to find the pieces you are missing.

So I got my daughter the Lego spider man art piece for Xmas. She put it together in about 15 seconds and now she wants me to hang it up in her room. I haven’t the slightest how to mount this thing to the wall. Has anyone dealt with any of the hanging Lego art pieces before? There’s no real mount or mounting hardware that I can see.

Looks like two nails in the wall and resting it on then maybe? I didn’t realize those “art” things were that elaborate

The fingers move independently and are articulated. The head swivels as well. It’s quite neat actually. So naturally my teenager made spider man flip the bird.

What are your thoughts on the LR13000? It’s a lot of money for what doesn’t seem like all that exciting of a kit, which is why I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. We are using one like that on a project we’re on, but with about 3X the boom that is in their kit.

It is absurdly priced. Should have been half. But I really enjoy playing with it!

Compound pulleys are fascinating and it's really cool to see the cables, winches, and truss system all work together. I'm also ok with the purchase as it goes well with my other heavy equipment Lego - Liebherr 9800, Volvo A60H, and now Cat D11.

I'll eventually piece together longer booms, jib, and extra ballast, as to make it look more proportional to the real thing.

That is soooo cool! Geek out attack!! Get that dozer together so we can see that thing!:) If only they had things like that back in the day! Three wheelers, drift trikes!! Probably wouldn’t be alive! Had enough troubles building mini bikes and go-carts, HA!!

I was a Lego kid growing up and ended up with a 1:1 Jeep CJ a few years ago so my mom got me one of the best Christmas gifts this year.
    IMG_5545.jpg

Completed the first half an about a week ago, and finished it up today since it was a rainy day. Pretty cool to build with Legos again after all the years. Neat kit too, opening hood and doors, functional suspension, steering, and winch.

Welcome back to Lego! That’s a cool jeep! Reminds me of the one I had when I was a little squirt back in the 80’s. Looking at yours it’s cool to see how far they’ve come.
    upload_2024-1-11_14-44-13.png

It’s amazing where Lego is at now. I started building them again in my late 30’s and my mind was blown when I built a 6 speed transmission!

Man that’s awesome! I was just thinking it’d been sweet to build a Lego CJ.

I was just telling someone how much more detailed these kits are compared to what I remembered from the 90s kids I had.

Thanks. I've always been a huge Apollo/Saturn V fan, so I had to get the rocket and the big scale moon lander. The space shuttle is a nice pairing with the rocket. The Hubble comes with the space shuttle and really could be a stand alone set. It's very well done, except the flimsy solar panels.

Once, many years ago, the they had something going on at that time so I didn't get to see the good Apollo stuff.

    Definitely want to go back.

You can quit right now and it would be accurate to today's standard of it.

You're also going to need a tiny submersible to go with it.
