Carista OBD2

Well that’s good to know them. I’m a crew cab but without jbl. Out of the dozens of people I saw talking about turning it off I never saw anyone mention it was only jbl related but that makes sense! I may adjust the ac but thinking if that has long term effects or not

 

I did the one month subscription for Carista.

I used it with the VeePeak BLE+ ODB2 on my 2024 SR5 CrewMax.

No problems.

 

It has zero effect on heat temp as we are now in December and truck is set at a normal temp and nice and warm

 

Turn off the back seat belts as well. I left mine on, but if there is 2 people on either side, the centre one clangs away. Annoying AF.

I already have a nice ODBII scanner. Can you use Carista software with another scanner on the Tundra?

 

I do believe you can but you'll have to pay $10 for access to the app. Definitely worth it to turn off the seat belt alarms.

 

Is there a 30 day trial before you have to pay?

 

If you buy their dongle, yes.

 

You get a free week if you sign up for the year, at least you used to. Then you can cancel at the end of the week.

 

Anyone know if there are any more customization features in the new evo?

 

Did a quick search and didn’t see anything mentioned about TPMS. I’m guessing we can’t toggle the spare tire tpms setting with Carista?

 

I'm pretty sure the Carista site lists the changes you cam make for each manufacturer they support. I don't recall seeing anything for TPWS.

 

I know this is a long shot but is there any chance the Carista that I bought for my Tundra and my wife's Camry would work on a 2012 Mustang? My Mustang just had the Anti-Lock Brake light come on. I would like to check the codes before I take it in to the shop.

I’m wondering this too, does the Evo offer anything additional for $70 vs the $20 for the regular one?

Also, any long term effects of changing the temp setting -2? Will the system have to work harder or will it void warranty?

 

I would check their site to see if it’s compatible…

 

I know it would not work on our Chrysler van.

If all you are doing is reading codes, then it should work just fine in the Ford.

 

You can't even do that with the 2018 Pacifica.

 

You can't read codes with an OBD2 dongle in a Pacifica? Was it made in China?

 

Not exactly. I'm saying the carista app does not work. I have t tried another app yet.

 

Just to clarify, on the Pacifica are you trying to read codes or change things like seat belt alarms? I don't think any Chrysler products are supported for making changes like that in the Carista app. If you're just trying to read codes, I know the Car Scanner app connects to my Carista dongle. Hope this helps.

I'm not, I was answering someone else's question and stating that the carista app does not work to read codes on our 2018 Chrysler. That's it.
