DEF is a deal breaker. Buy a decent pre DEF well taken care of diesel HD truck.

Problem is...it worked OK for this idiot over the years and all the other idiots that have owned trucks over the last 100 yrs give or take and have managed to survive all this time without cheesy knock off GM style bumper steps. That's who. SMH...
Load the f**k up and go....;)

Nope. Put the tailgate down on a 3rd gen and there's no more bumper exposed to step on like like trucks had for the last 100 years. No need for the GM steps.

I was being a bit sarcastic. As you are. The engineers who designed the whole rear end of the new gen should have been on CO weed instead of Suntori vodka. Those engineers definitely never drove a truck here. Their trucks are...[IMG]

When you get a sensor blocked by snow/ice/mud and the error message pops up on the dash display, when you clear the message, make it stay gone. I don’t need to see every 15 seconds. Once is enough.

Hell yes. This kills me for any of the alerts. Same for the radar cruise. I don't need the stupid images popping up when it sees a car in front of me.

The turn radius is on par with other similar vehicles. In fact, the crew cab regular bed has a better turning radius than the comparable f-150.

I would instruct the chief engineer to make sure that his parts suppliers are squared away. My window run rattles like the vehicle has 400k miles on it, and my dealer has tried to address this issue with other 22+ tundras, only finding that replacement parts are worse.

ETA - ditto the messages RE covered sensors. If I clear the message, I'm acknowledging that there is an "issue" and I will act accordingly. My reaction to the message will be to take no further action, because I don't need nanny systems to remind me to be a conscientious driver.

So you are willing to give up ride comfort, to have that right? Oh, and you're ok with the price going up for the extra materials for the boosted cooling, handling, braking, and rigidity that is required, too. Right? Its' not like more payload was just on the table to be had and they said "Nah, f**k the peasants." It's a sliding scale. To get more payload you are giving up other stuff.

The Tundra would go back on my radar if it can replace my current one and the 4Runner.
    Two birds with one stone.
I want a choice of either a hybrid that gives me 50 miles of battery standalone or the 5.7 option with the 10 speed.
Toyota's full time 4wd system, replace the parts bin back seats in the DC with proper flip down seats. for the rare time I may need someone back there.
My kids are grown but not gone 8^0

The 400k+ diesel is alive and well. Know of several. I guess Detroit can figure it out but not Toyota.

I literally would have bought one by now if it wasn’t for this issue. I got in and out of the bed of my truck at least 6 times last weekend this way. It is THE show stopper from buying.
I’m looking at aftermarket bumpers like cbi but not a lot of choices for rear, adds weight and cost.

    Truth...
Had a Toyota factory rep tell me the same. Toyota diesels will still be popular over seas. Not only that but having fo deal with the very high warranty failure liabilities the big 3 deal with on finicky modern emission compliant diesels.

I had a provisional Lic when i was 15, was not allowed to ride any passengers until 16, my dad caught me and unbolted all of the seats out minus the drivers, 1990 ford topaz LOL but my buddies brought a bunch of milk crates and sat in the car on them anyways

Oh I get that, it's just that my on daughter in law`s 21 Camry they can get a package similar to "Remote Connect" for either $8 a month or $80 a year rather than only just the $15 a month minimum for the various Tundra connectivity packages. To me I could see higher costs on packages that use more bandwidth such as music lover or manpower such as calling in for directions or making dinner reservations, but a simple remote connect type package that just sends simple text like commands for "remote start" or "lock doors" could cost less... (Just my first world problem whine for the day)

I would like for the DRL's to turn off when gear selector is in park... When we travel (with dog) and stop to eat or something... We leave the truck running with AC on... DRL's being on is a dead give away that truck is running with nobody in it... Although we do lock it with the extra key...

    More 8' beds...

Mine has a step and you can lower it a couple of inches. I like the set up much better than my F150 with the pull out step on the tail gate. I still prefer the built in steps on the GMC's better than the Tundra's but the power step is easy to live with.

I'd like to have the previous gen's rear seat design back. When folded up, they provided a much more usable space for dogs, gear, etc....

I also wish the hand-free text messaging would automatically mute the radio, like it does for phone calls and navigation prompts. That may be a Apple/CarPlay issue, not a Toyota issue, though.
