Hey guys - new to the forum & looking for recommendations on a 2.5” or 3” lift for my 2020 Tundra - Crewcab 4x4.

    I just purchased a set of 17” ICON Rebound wheels with BFG KO2 35 X 12.5 tires.

If like to stay under $2k for a reliable driver if possible

    Thanks for any feedback!

Budget seems a bit low, you will likely be disappointed with it.

    What's wrong with a 6112/5160?

    Too many, but not enough....
2 to 2.5 inch lift you can do really cheap with just coilovers. Drop 35 down to 295/70 and you get way cheaper, lighter, less modifications and much less strain on your truck.

For starters lifting with coilovers and possibly shackles without modifications to springs and bump stops leads to other issues such as poor handling, flattened springs, etc. Looks are cute but actual performance and reliability gets a little more costly.

Would probably second 6112/5160 or even 5100s. I highly doubt you’ll be doing anything crazy like going through whoops 4-5 feet apart at 60mph.

You also stated reliable and I would say that this set up would be extremely reliable.

If you’re lifting your truck mainly for looks, you’ll be totally fine with 6112/5160 or Eibach pro truck coilovers, which both run about $1200-$1400. Don’t listen to people above, your truck will handle fine and both options are pretty reliable (more reliable than Icon suspension, just do little research). These are entry level coilovers so you need to expect a ride to be a bit firmer, but not in a bad way.

2.5 lift - don’t need aftermarket upper control arms. Might need 1” shackle for the rear to make it look level, not nose high

3” lift, will need upper control arms ($600-800) and 1.5” shackles to look leveled.

I’m glad you went with 35s. Anything smaller than that, makes our trucks looks like it got chicken legs for wheels.

With 17” Icons, make sure tire shop mounts wheel weights on the outside perimeter of the wheel, so that brake caliper clear it and won’t knock them off.

From my research….Eibach’s ride better. But there is more info on Bilsteins on long term reliability, but harsher ride.

You can’t go wrong with both.

When you add weight and/or speed to the Bilstein 6112/5160 they get a little plusher. Great on-road handling. Good off-road, too, with my first sentence.
