I bought one of those Snail Horns with an attached little compressor. Can I just plug it in the Horn circuit in my 2000 Tundra?

Is there a chance that it would be too much load on the circuit? If so, would it blow a fuse (Which is no biggie) or worse?

If it’s too much, it’ll blow the fuse. What’s the specs on the new one? Should list an amp draw on it.

I just looked... It's from China (Meaning it has a chip in it and it's spying on me as we speak) But it lists 15 amps

Probably too much for the stock horn circuit. Could add a relay and use the stock harness as the trigger. Horn would still work the same but you would have a separate fused power supply for the new horn. Cost ya $15 or so.

Run the horn wire to a relay, hot wire from battery to the relay, then relay to the new horn.

The stock horn wire will trigger the relay to close, connecting the power from the battery directly to the horn.

This is how I did the twin Stebel Nautilus horns on my 2012 Tundra and have done it on 3 separate motorcycles. Works like a charm with no worries about blowing fuses. On my BMW bikes you can't pull more than 10 amps, so this mod is a must in order for the aftermarket horn to work.

EDIT: The switch shown in the picture/video will be your actual horn button. The wires from that switch to the relay in the picture/video will be the stock wires that are attached to the stock horn.

Soooo, you will have the stock horn wires run to the relay, then new wires from the relay to the horn. EZPZ

I bought a MotoHorn, and I’d like to wire it into my stock horn circuit so when I hit the horn on the steering wheel, it activates the added horn. It came with a relay and a diagram that is straightforward for wiring. My ‘23 came with two horns, I just need to figure out which one of all those wires, going into horn #1 and #2, attached to connectors of course, is the one I should tap into with a wire going to the relay. I suppose I could unshield the wiring and have someone blow the horn while I probe each wire with a multimeter to see if it shows 12 volts, but that doesn’t seem practical, especially since I don’t have a helper and my arms aren’t 12 feet long. I suppose it would be a stretch to ask if anyone has the diagram for the horn circuit with identifiers for each wire, or better yet, has already done this and can tell me which wire in the harness to the OEM horns I should T-tap into? Or alternatively, give me a more robust plan that guarantees success. Open to any ideas but I already have the relay mounted and am ready to start wiring. The kit came with a roll of 12-gauge wire and a roll of 16-gauge wire, and the relay has a 30-amp fuse in it already.

    Update:
I checked the wires going into both of the OEM horns and they all pull 12v, the one on the driver side is just a jumper from the other side horn. So I T-tapped the one on the passenger side and that became my trigger. Added and wired the relay, which is straightforward, and now the new horn honks when the OEM horn honks. Pretty loud, almost train horn loud, and it definitely gets the attention of would-be lane changers and mergers who don’t look. Very happy with it. I may start exploring a mounting place for a second one for a little added oomph!
