    Hi Guys,
Has anyone dealt with this? This looks to be a reinforcement bracket that is riveted to the rear frame. Mine is a 2006 Doublecab. My concern is the IMG_6618.jpg pic shows the front leaf spring shackle mount. The divot you see is because rust all around the rivet holding the shackle has swelled. I'm worried the rivet may rust through or pop off. Thanks.

it was a boatload of work, but it's held up fantastically. @remington351 yours looks very similar to how mine was when I got my truck. Nothing a few days with a cutting wheel and a welder can't fix...

Doesn’t look as bad as some I’ve seen… probably got another 8 years before it falls apart… unless it lives in the salt. :notsure:

Those pictures could have come from my vehicle. It was worse next to the muffler where I assume the heat sped up the chemical reaction. I regularly get underneath my vehicle looking for rust, but these reinforced areas are obscured by the muffler on one side and fuel tank on the other.

I just wish I had seen this sooner. I was not as vigilant as I could have been as I live in WA State which isn't considered a "rust belt" state. Unfortunately, in the last few years they have started to use de-icing agents that are clearly corrosive.

I've hit the areas with Ospho/Phosphoric acid and once that dries will treat everything with Fluid Film.

Sucks they never included '04+ in the rusty frame safety campaigns. :(
