Today while parking I received this warning message.

electronic parking brake seemed to not engage all the way. I reached down and manually pushed the parking break button. Warning went away. If it happens more I will call dealer. Anyone else have any issues?

I had it happen to me once. Hasn't happened again. It seemed like maybe I turned off the ignition too quickly while putting it into park.

Likewise. Happened once when shutting off too quickly when parking. Never happened since.

This happened to me once as well as I shut the ignition off too quickly. I turned the auto park brake off and not an issue since.

Just got my truck. Already happened to me twice should I contact my dealer?

    What’s wrong with stock?
Is this still an issue? Happened to me when I started the truck this morning.

I parked my 2024 SR5 (bought in late November) at home a few days ago and went out this morning and the battery was dead. Jumped it this morning and strangely no cabin lights were on and no obvious source of battery drain. The EPB error message was on the display when I started the truck. Not a good sign that the battery is already dying.

No issue at all. You shut the truck off before the electronic break fully engaged and the truck is just letting you know.

So you are saying things like wiper blades and windows will finish doing what they do even when you turn off the truck but the EPB won’t? I have to imagine it has something to do with the service campaign.

Why don't you try putting your truck in park and shutting it off immediately, then reply again.

That's ok. Doesn't matter. If it is designed to do that, then that is stupid. If it isn't designed to do that, then something is broken. Either way, seems like something the service campaign should address. Is it far fetched to think people will be turning off their trucks after putting them in park? The parking brake should be able to finish engaging no matter what.

Just happened to me today. Not sure if I turned the truck off too soon. I read where this could happen if your battery is weak. I think mine is weak because the auto turn off feature says, “battery charging…” more than 50% of the time.

Tint and wheels. Decked box in the bed. S and B Cold Air filters under the hood. Shiftpower throttle response controller.
My wiper blades stop in the middle of my windshield when I turn the truck off. They don't go down to the stowed position.

I just turned off my auto parking brake. I don't park on hills so there's no need for brake to set every time I put truck in park. If I need it, I'll set it myself. Problem solved.

I've had that EBP message at least two times and I think that both were when I turned it off quickly.

Have had this happen a few times also. As I understand it and as has been stated when you put the vehicle in park it activates the parking brake and if you shut the truck off before it gets a chance to "completely" do it's thing up pops the message. The reason it occurs with me is I have gotten into the habit when i park in the garage or anywhere of immediately pushing the stop engine button to avoid the auto start/stop shutting the engine down only to start back up again before I shut it off. Which drives me insane. If I have disabled the start/stop prior to this I have no problems. As Raven has said you can disable your automatic parking brake and problem solved. The caveat to this though is if your parking on an incline it's puts all the pressure to keep the vehicle in place on the "parking pawl" in the transmission which is something you don't want to have to pay to fix if you damage it or shear it off. Hence, you will have to set the parking brake manually.
P.S. For what it's worth it, I truly scare myself when I sound like I know what I'm talking about.
