My suggestion is to look into a "Range" Device. It plugs right into your OBD2 port and is completely undetectable. What it does is it keeps your engine from going into V4 mode (cylinder deactivation). Lots of problems with silverados burning oil because of this. The previous 6.2L did not have active fuel management but the new ones do. I came from a 2011 Silverado with "active fuel management and it burned oil. Couldn't get over the fact that I had to add oil to it in between oil changes. Got rid of it! My other suggestion is join SilveradoSierra.com. Great forum and you can learn all about the notorious silverados that burn oil. Don't mean to scare you or anything just dealt with it before.

yep bank account is running low from it..
Good luck with the purchase man.

6.2 is not too much as a bad engine. Gm has updated the engine (heads area) and fixed the problem. As for the oil burning I believe gm has finally fixed that problem also with the oil injectors (angle of them) I believe time will tell.

What made you make the change to it? I hope it works out the way you want it too, but I have a feeling you'll see a few differences or just miss the Toyota part of it.

My neighbor traded in his lifted Tacoma for a 5.3 Silverado....had it a month and then upgraded to the CM 6.2L version..put a tuner in and everything. He enjoyed tre truck, but quickly found himself missing Toyota so he traded it again and grabbed an FJ.

Those 6.2L make me :jellydance: more power than the Tundra, but better mpgs than even the ecoboost 3.5 in real world tests from what I've seen. Wish my Tundra got those MPGs with that much power still on tap, and the V8 growl

i honestly was going to see what the they would give me for my truck. ive always had a crush on the denali in high school. i never thought more about it because i thought i could never afford one. of course they low balled me on my truck. i was walking away. they asked me how much do i want. they gave it to me. and then i was like well shit now how am i going to get out of this. i asked for more stuff they met them or met me half way. they are putting a lift on tuesday. as far as differences between the two. their are minor things that i miss from my tundra that i had did modifications to. i miss my bumper with newly installed HIDs in them. my marine grade optima battery lol. some of the storage space. and the longer bed. as of right now. but i love the 6.2l i love that i finally have 4wd drive now. i have built in gps. wifi. which came in handy for my feyonce to study. has built in inverter so she charged her laptop and did research. heated and cooled seats. remote start. heated steering wheel. just a bunch of little things i always wished i had in the tundra. plus the old lady has a thing for gmc. so for me its a win win. ill always love my tundra and keep in touch with tundra world. all in all i love it. but i doubt, atleast i hope. lol. that i wont go too crazy as far as mods on it. after the lift i dont feel like i need to do anything else. atleast until the warranty expires...and im not sure i want to even change the oil myself on it. just keep bringing it to dealer for routine stuff.

ive always enjoyed this forum and i plan on sticking with it and repping my tundras.com sticker. i dont think i will join another forum.

I've ridden in a 2015 Denali.Has to be the best trim level of all trucks by far. IMO. Sticker on it was $64K. Neighbor bought it for $59K final dickering price. They definitely need lift level done. Neighbor did that and also removed spoiler/valance plastic air dam thingy and gained over 3" of clearance.

Wow for that price you could get a limited Tundra and add an inverter and supercharger.

I took off my neighbor's valance/skirt for him. (He is pushing 80 years old and still likes a nice ride) Easy. 4 bolts. Get underneath and take a look. Might take you 15 minutes.

I like the look of the GMC's also, but was always a little nervous about their reliability.I have ridden in a friend of mine during deer season and I think their ride is one of the smoothest in the 1/2 ton segment.

My friends 2010 Texas edition GMC Sierra had all new transmission lines replaced in 2013. Leaking badly after only three years? Replaced with much better built rigid lines. Where I hunt, a stock Chevy/GMC/Dodge/Ford truck isn't going to ride too smooth, even a stock Tundra.) Google Moffat Road. Will rattle your brains out going up. Better yet:http://www.moffatroad.org/
