Loose/shaky fog lights

This is how I fixed my jiggly Morimoto fogs

 

Azimuth:
Looks like strong, fresh new zip ties will do the job!
Complete satisfaction afterwards by not having them shake all the time!

 

This happens on mine as well. Just noticed it last week and it's really driving me nuts!! At first I assumed it was my headlights! I'm gonna mess with it today and see if I can come up with anything. Might resort to zipties and foam gasket

 

Mine is the fog lights loose in the bezels. The bezels seem tight

 

So I used around 5 zip ties on each side running from various spots on the pod and the bezel housing to the bumper and structural and it was a bit tight getting my head and torso in there..but it seems to be fixed. I'll see how long it lasts now. Could get pretty cold this winter so I'm hoping they don't break. I didn't take any pics but it's pretty easy and straight forward to do just basically secure it with cable/zip ties a few times however you can and it fixes it.

 

So far so good on mine. They are tight and no more bounce.

 

The best solution I came up with for shaky or loose fog lights:

—> Silicone around the inside edges.

I have rigid fog lights on my 2021 Tundra Pro. Use a caulk gun and buy an expensive tube of outdoor clear or black silicone. Apply between the cracks and on outer edges. The silicone will flex and withstand bumps and freezing or super hot weather. If done right, you can hardly tell it is there. Let it dry and go for a drive… you’ll see. Hope this helps! It’s easier than removing paneling to get to places where you can strap some tie downs. Use the rest of the tube around your house.

 

This is exactly what I did several years ago. I have written about it as a solution several times, since. It is good that you have explained it, again! Simple and pretty bulletproof

After 8 years on this awesome forum and over 7000 posts, a lot has been buried. I don’t write as much anymore but I’m still checking stuff out every day!
Plus I’m still pretty sure that I have the best year/model tundra and am absolutely sure it’s the fastest color ever imagined! SUPER WHITE!!!!

Super “Work Truck” White

 

Hey, you have seen my sweet truck and I have pictures of our trucks, side by side. You can’t really tell me that you think mine looks like a “work truck”!

 

It looks like it will get work done, for sure.

 

Are you applying the silicone around the edge of the lens? Noticed while running ranch roads last week that one that is shaking. I did the zip tie fix years ago.

 

Hopefully, the photo uploads. The blue highlight is where I put silicone. The housing is what was shaking for me because it’s just plastic snapped in and not tight. Silicone fills the gaps.

 

Thanks I might need to pull the liner and check the zip tie make make sure bulb is snug. I have not noticed on pavement but don't drive much at night.

Evening all,
I'm getting ready to install my new squadrons on my '18 and hopefully fix the wiggle.
I took the plastic liner off just to take a peek in there. Install seems easy enough.
I do have a question though, noticed this open plug on the driver's side(I'm guessing same on the passenger side?) Is this plug for the front bumper sensors for those Tundras that are equipped with them? Or would it be for additional aux lighting?

 

Yes.
It is for the parking sonar sensors.

Thanks for this. I keep replacing broken cable ties as I also have 21 Pro and it's the Bezels that are shaking. Toyota really got this wrong. I don't know if they just didn't spec the fit correctly, or they didn't adjust the mounting solution for the heavier Rigid Driving Lights, but mine is so bad that I've found the paint is completely gone on the bumper cover where the fog bezel fits. My plan is to go with aftermarket Diode Dynamics Pods and hard mount them to a steel bracket to the radiator support apron. For now, I might try this and seem how things go...
