At least with other powerfull things like bikes and snowmobiles its likely only the operator that is injured/killed. Letting rich morons with zero understanding of machines get behind the wheel of a 5000lb missile is slightly concerning.

no, more like the finance ceo who has more money then brains with a 1000hp tesla showing their buddies how fast it is.

I like watching utube vids of boats coming in and out of haulover inlet. Its painfully obvious that $$ and understanding/respect of physics have zero correlation.

    whoa...I resemble that! LOL.

    I don't drive fast....very often.

and don't start disparaging me on docking a boat...Lord knows, I'm the worst!

I am so thankful that show is not filming in Lake Conroe!

I agree with you on most points.

Tesla's are years ahead of ICE vehicles.
Imagine your wife being able to comfortably drive a 1020hp 4 door hatchback to walmart...everyday..with A/C on.

    life is good

    Lake Conroe you say?

Youtube fame here I come! Then I could buy a 1020hp Tesla!

dont get me wrong, I think its fantiastic thAt we live in a time with 1000hp cars and it was no dig on any one in particular, but things happen really quick when your 5000lb car goes 0-60 in less than 3 seconds…

    I hear you. and agree.

    it's simply dangerous.

and fun when you can pull it off on deserted road ways.

who would have thought we would be able to access that level of performance in a family sedan.

it's just odd that article does relate to insurance data that is easily accessed on the internets.

see, in my world, Mustangs, Camaros & Challengers would seem to be in more "dumb-ass" accidents than Tesla's.

    From the Forbes article:
"LendingTree, an online lending marketplace, allows for the collection of a great deal of data. Researchers analyzed TENS of MILLIONS of QuoteWizard by LendingTree insurance quotes from November 14, 2022, through November 14, 2023."

Something must have caught their eye. Forbes magazine isn't the Nat'l Inquirer.

    yup. something caught the eye.

I suspect with VW now adding in the Tesla charger, we will see a lot more "challenges" for Tesla.

Tesla now owns the EV world. plain and simple.

and the "green" crowd is probably not happy about that.

Just the other day someone proudly explained to me how they planned to support the EV trend without buying a Tesla so as not to support the Evil Elon and I had to explain that he's
Setting it up so he's making money no matter whose car they buy and the only way to not be basically a Tesla investor will soon be not to buy an EV at all.

    they don't like that

Seems that Maine is postponing their EV mandate timeline since reality bit with the massive power outages. Rethinking things it seems. I've got a coworker from Maine with lots of family there. Not ready for EV "prime time" just like the CU Buffaloes.

Any of you without the ultrasonic sensors get the new high fidelity park assist update this weekend? I just got it and it's incredibly accurate backing into the tight garages I use. I quickly preferred it to using the backup camera for parking

Director of autopilot at Tesla says it's coming to Teslas with USS as well (which I'm assuming will disable the USS on those)

Does it only work when backing? I pull my car into the garage where the charger is. I’m running 23.44.30.5.1
I put my lock sound to quack. Wife and I delivered some cookies last night to a friend, and the friend was cracking up when I walked away and it quacked

I posted a disparaging review in another thread, but had to delete when I realized the OP had just bought one!
