Yeah I just don't get the whole "fluffing" your post count idea. I mean, I understand that they are trying to get their count up so they can sell something, but do they not think they will be noticed. This is also coming from someone who has been on here since 2019 and just hangs out in the background watching the show and throwing comments out there every now and then.

Yup. They don't read any rules. They try to post for sale, get the message their post count is too low, and then fluff. It's pretty common.

    That's just stupid.

Let’s hope it’s not that especially when you are out of town.

Are you on city water or a well? What kind of “wonky pressures”?

leaks wouldn’t normally result in pressure fluctuations but rather a consistent lower pressure, and it would be a pretty noticeable leak to create noticeable pressure drops.

Well water. It's lower pressure, but if its turned off and then back on its a slight bump in pressure for a few seconds. Then back to lower, but after a few minutes it comes back up. It could be the foot at the bottom of the pipe corroded off. We had that happen years back.

Sounds like the bladder in your pressure tank is not charged or failed/failing or the pressure switch is not adjusted currently (or failing).

it’s normal in a well to have two pressures - there’s the high and low set points on the pressure switch (for when the pump turns on and when it turns off) and then when the pump is running there’s even higher pressure.

the air bladder inside the pressure tank is what keeps the tank charged between the high and the low set points - if the air charge in that isn’t right your water pressure will drop more quickly than it should which then forces your pump to cycle more often (that is the high surge in pressure you see).

Best one I've ever seen was someone in our capital projects group, which is a big ponderous machine known to move slow and take 3-4 years to do anything.

"I'll be out of the office until January X. If you have a projects emergency during that time... Ha ha ha, just kidding. Merry Christmas."

I support a 24/7 operation so if I'm not available, the folks who are working need to know where to get help.

Certain people it makes a lot of sense. For what I do, it doesn't require immediate responses most of the time and if its an emergency those folks know how to reach me if they need to.

I keep mine on when I go on “vacation” but vacation in my role has never worked out lol. I can’t connect clients, that I have built relationships with to a peer an expect the same results. Clients usually won’t want to work with someone they don’t know..so I don’t use my “PTO” days. When I left my last employer I had them pay out all of it.

Similar situation as I have built relationships with customers and if they have an issue don't want them having the perception that I am unavailable to help them out. Most of the time it doesn't consume more than about 30 min total on my "days off".

    Fun picture of the day.

This is a Canadian black bear compared to a polar bear, both harvested at their respective average weights.
