Nope. She was in MCJROTC with me. Had short hair. Kinda small. Big personality. Can't think of her name though. More I think about her, she was kinda cute. I've just never been into girls with short hair.

But I did remember her last name. We didn't use first names in MCJROTC.

Bubba’s tag line (“Been Real”) made me think maybe he was bouncing from the forum totally. I miss the guy. Nobody knew electrical issues and EWD like he did.

I’ll be checking in with Noah in the next couple of days. Got two people having babies right now, he’s one of them. Pretty sure both are hunkering down. Both are gonna be good poppas too. We need more smart, strong and capable dudes having babies.

Cody caught a 30 day hammer. Noah has been snapping me every other day or so. He's doing good. I forgot who, maybe one of the NorCal guys or Des, but someone has been keeping up with Casper. Bubba, I dunno. I don't remember him says he was leaving.

I've always gone through my insurance agent. Had them haggle & fight for me. I've never dealt with the other guys insurance even though it's their fault. My insurance agent works for me, they are not there simply to sell policies & collect checks - they're also there to have your back. Put them to work!

make your employee fight for you, diminished value, proper quality repairs, etc.
I always have them quote OEM for the initial quote. If that's going to total it, then we discuss used OEM parts. Only 1 car I wanted gone & I let the body shop know & he made sure damages got high enough to total (was on the edge, so we decided you can't match silver paint, so total repaint of the silver bits totaled it).

Remember, it is a negotiation. Insurance makes an offer - you can counter the offer, you can bargain. You can show market value is higher than they claim with comparable recent sales. You can present receipts for recent work, you should be compensated for "new" parts on the truck.

The longer you keep the file open on their desk, the worse the close rate is for the person who has your case, so eventually they just want you gone unless it's a real dirtbag organization.

Good luck. Sorry, but you gotta fight until it's not worth your time anymore. ...or, have your agent fight (& hope they're good).

one of the states I lived in (live in?), the owner has the right to OEM parts if they choose.

I saw this today on facebook marketplace. It’s a 4.7 supercharger. It seems to be a real good price...for the seller.

They kind of have that here but it's different. You have the right to choose but the customer would have to pay the difference if insurance doesn't cover it. Unless you have an all OEM parts policy n your insurance policy.

That's why I suggested the Geo Storm or the Isuzu Impulse. They had a turbo trim level.

"Why don't you want a new car?" They ask as I start up my 21 year old truck.

Well, that’s about 20 years longer than any men in my family ever make it so I guess it’s a blessing? Dad has already lived 6 years longer than any man in his family line, I know it has him a little nervous, we don’t talk about it. If I last another 2 decades I’ll be happily surprised. And I’m not even “that old” yet when you start tossing out 9s like that.

I mean if you’re gonna go there, I’d take a MKIV GTI with the 1.8T, manual flavored, before I’d take a Saab. I don’t care of they were designed by airplane dudes, or that the GTI always has something squirrelly going on, cracked plastic. Borked vacuum tubes … it’s fun as hell to drive and gets good MPG. But I don’t think it’d qualify as a beater/putter.

Metro LSi with an LS swap could be really damn fun though. Drivetrain would be more than the car is worth though!!

One of my first cars was an ‘85 Volvo 240Turbo, manual at least. It was all mechanical/vacuum controlled (I had to replace about 30’ or vacuum lines in that car) and you could simply unplug a vacuum line that controlled the waste gate and basically over boost it. One of the times I did that I checked it after a spirited drive and the engine compartment was well illuminated from the glowing cherry red turbo. That was fun with a factory turbo :)

I sold this a little over a year ago; 5cyl turbo, it was a fun car and got about 29mpg. First gear sucked though...

Took the day off work and hit the woods. I got semi lost and had to ask for directions. I wish I had more people to ride with around here. This is probably one of the better trails I've done. The creek was the trail at times.

    I miss my Talaria sometimes.
