Morimoto XB led failure (1 projector)

Has anyone with the Morimoto XB's have this happen? Now I'm looking at 3 options.

1- warranty replacement

2- warranty replacement and pay the difference for the amber DRLs

3-;switch to OEM leds (no idea on the output comparison between the two)

 

Mmmmmmmm.....amber DRLs.

 

Yeah I just got an email back from HR. I have to pay for the replacement passenger side, and then the charge will be reversed when they get the old light back. He said I should not see any color differences between the driver's and passenger side once it is replaced. I can't pay the difference to upgrade to amber DRLs since they are only replacing one side.

 

I'm happy with the white DRLs. So bright and purdy. I get the amber when I turn

 

Ha...I'm just irritated that these were just installed in May 2022 and now one has to be replaced.

 

So I bought a set of ambers as I wanted the set to have the same usage time on them (OCD gets you every time). I'll sell the white ones once the replacement comes in. The ambers will look good and stand out more with the Barcelona red. We have the ambers on our Barcelona red 4runner. You can see them a mile away during the day.

 

I'll post pics of the ambers when they arrive. Those are bright.

 

Love the amber DRL on my MGM. They absolutely stand out on the road. It was my son that convinced me to "pony up" the extra $ for them. Super happy I listened to him on this one. (Not something I usually do as he has all of 19 years of "life experience", lol.)

 

Nice. I'm a little irritated that I had to buy a full set but hopefully I will regain a descent amount from selling the other set.

This is the amber on the 4R so it will look good with mine too being the same color.

 

Looks awesome! I'm sure it will stand out on the Tundra too. I'm sure someone on here wants some XBs at a discount for sure. Wouldn't think they'll be difficult to sell.

 

That looks AMAZING on Barcelona Red.

 

Now I just have to wait for.the warranty replacement on the defective white light and then I can post that set for sale.

 

Update - so since I bought the amber set, HR processed the RA and I am getting a full refund for what I paid for the white set when I purchased them.

 

mine are going back again for warranty....a little bit of rain in CA and the Morimotos shit the bed again...love those lights but man are they precious...

 

I feel like all these lights shit the bed all the time

 

new set coming my way under the 5 year warranty.

 

Ive had mine for 1.5 years and still working 100%. I'd expect no less with their cost.

 

3 sets in 4 years but the warranty process is smooth Each time was rain making it's way inside projector and short circuiting everything. I suspect the gasket or whoever applying the sealant around not doing its job properly.

 

Have you had any hyper flash on those? I’ve had the same ones for about 7 months and now the left turn signal hyper flashes. Do I need to add a LED resistor?

 

I have not had any issues at all. What do you have for tail lights? It's possible that the rear bulb is out.

 

Naw not the taillights, I have Alpharex. Theres no other bulbs out checked everything already.
