Hey I'm new to the forum but I just picked up a 2019 tundra and the drivers side kick panel wasn't on so I pulled it off to reinstall it and I noticed that there was a pink wire that has been cut and looks like it was spliced to something different. I'm pretty sure it's part of PJ2 pin 13. Pink wire
    anyone know what its for?Screenshot_20231220_165839_Microsoft 365 (Office).jpg 20231220_160235.jpg
I looked at the wiring diagram and found it but am lost now

    Thanks for any help

It might be the "Disable TPMS" mod.

Probably related to a remote start

That would make sense. The tpms light is on as well.
Do people just do it when they put tires with no sensors?

    Too many mods to come
Tpms mod was by the glove box at least when I did mine. But maybe @RainMan_PNW can shed some light

On my 2019 that’s the exact same tap as I used for the fortin remote start; something about the unit taps into the Tpms. The light is on when the remote start is active and then goes off when the key is inserted and you press on the brake. Some kind of bypass that I am not smart enough to explain

Like someone said, it probably had a aftermarket remote start. I installed an aftermarket remote start in my 2019 Tundra and it taps into the TMPS for some reason, I think it has something to do with overriding the truck from shutting off since the TPMS light will blink until the key is turned in the ignition then once the brake is applied the TPMS light shuts off.

So you had to cut that pink free and slice into it?
In those wire caps there is a cut wire in each one.

    Should I reconnect it?

If the module is still there I don’t see why you wouldn’t reconnect it unless it was causing some electrical gremlins.
When I installed mine I just stripped back the casing and split the wires in the middle and wove the remote start in between the wire fibers. I try to avoid complete cut and splice when I can.

I don’t know why the previous owner would have removed it unless they parted it out to sell to recoup some costs. Either way it’s easy enough to buy the fortin and reinstall it by attaching back to that wire. That’s what I would do regardless

It sounds like they probably cut the remote starter out. If you reconnect it your TPMS light should shut off and you'll be fine. If the remote starter is still present it will be behind the dash you could usually see it if you remove the bottom half of the steering wheel or another way to tell is if the OBD port has a splitter connected to it the other part will be connected to the remote start module.

Just connected it back together and tpms is all working properly now. I will check if there anything under the dash tomorrow but looks like the previous owner ripped it out
