Absolutely. I would never say a corporation is morally superior, but the UAW sure tries to ride in on a white horse. Not only are they the other side of the same coin, they're hypocrites about it. I think that is where people, at least I, get a shitty attitude about it. I don't deny that corporations are out to make money, and to do it for as little as possible. The UAW pushing that they want to get more workers into the union has dick all to do with helping the workers and everything to do with lining their own pockets, though. They deny it, and act hurt if called on it, but it's the truth. The union heads and the CEOs are the same job, different industries.

This is correct, except odd (to use your word). There are 33 pages of this thread and not a single instance of someone remotely suggesting a corporation is morally superior.

Strikes everywhere. Everybody doing it now, like these few years are the time to do it when Unions get support from the highest levels.

Government spikes inflation. Service and manufacturing sector strike for exorbitant wage hikes to afford higher prices.

This makes everything they provide us more expensive causing more inflation until their jobs are automated, outsourced or converted to contractors, expanding the market for bennies. Quite a cycle we've embarked on. Be interesting in the coming years to watch people experience the ramifications with most being unable to comprehend why it's happening to them.

I would submit that anybody who thinks the Middle class is racking up Ws over the mega corps right now with this stuff is mistaken.

I will also suggest that it seems like
This guy's agenda and ideology are obscuring a long term picture of the consequences of these pay deals and the membership is not well served by this mentality.

But they are big boys and big girls who put him in charge so when those jobs are no longer available for their kids and grandkids it's a reap/sow situation. They will live well to retirement then get replaced by robots or Canadians and Mexicans. Union leadership has apparently factored this in and is going after Honda, Toyota and Tesla harder to compensate for the membership declines that will happen due to the long term job losses they just caused.

They will die if they don't muscle their way into new companies and poison the non union shop business model. And They know it. The Union is less concerned about what happens to workers than what happens to itself as an entity. These Short term Ws are a tool for its own political and financial survival at Middle Class expense.

That's what drives them all. They will take these job killing deals and dangle them in front of people at non union shops.

"Elon Musk could easily pay you all 30% more next year too just like we got for the Big 3 workers but he wants another summer home or wants to buy another company he doesn't need for a new toy so he short changes you."

    See my post above...

They elected a radical who wears t shirts with Socialist slogans to lead the UAW and this indicates an underlying trend, it did not happen for no reason.

It is almost as if they don't even expect many of their jobs to be there more than another 10-20 years so it's git while the gittin's good.

    Relevant to the strike theme:

A strike is set for 2024 if Anheuser-Busch fails to negotiate a new agreement with their employees, according to the Teamsters National Negotiating Committee. Around 99% of the brewery's unionized workers reportedly voted in favor of the strike.

The members of the union are demanding the following changes:

    • improved wages
    • protection of jobs
    • secure healthcare
    • retirement benefits
The union estimated that 5,000 members across 12 US breweries would benefit from these changes. The current contract agreement expires on February 29, 2024. There are reportedly no dates scheduled for negotiations.

Long list of renegotiated pay deals set to have their costs passed to consumers in the next couple years. Consumers will in turn demand raises to cover it which will in turn make other stuff more expensive which will cause other people to demand raises.

But we had a good month so inflation is over, time to pop bottles.

It's not over. It's cooling. Or a better way of saying hey gang we're considering lowering the interest rates but the price hikes are here to stay. How cool is that of the fed to do this for us?

This is going to be a hard pill to swallow for InBev. They're still trying to get over the hit from Dylan's bath tub shoot. Men, bubbles and beer just don't mix well for their consumers.

Too bad Bud Light's version doesn't align with our idea of a good time.
