Starting Issue

My first posting! I have a 2006 Tundra Double Cab Limited with Leather, (only 42,000 miles), and it seems about every week the engine won't turn over. I hear a noise which would sound like a low battery. I had battery tested at NAPA and they said it is fine. All I do each time is jump start it, it starts right up. I do not think I am leaving anything on, but maybe a new parasitic drag is happening? Napa did use an expensive tester so I ruled out the battery. If it starts with a jump easily, does that rule out the starter, ignition switch, and any relays? I did not look at far end of battery cables yet, but cable side that connects to battery looks good. Truck has always been garaged.

 

If it fires off with a jump, that means the battery is not holding a charge or is being drained. Parasitic draws can be found with a volt meter. If you are certain that the battery is good, then you need to test for a draw and begin to isolate circuits to discover where the draw is coming from.

 

Huh. I know this will sound crazy, but I remember a couple of DC owners now who found the wire to their tweeter at their sail panel was smashed and arc'ing, and that was causing parasitic drain.

Do you know how to test for parasitic drain? I can post a video. Alternately, try removing the RADIO (I think?) fuse in the dash before letting it sit. See if it cranks normal. Or test the voltage BEFORE you start.
