How in the hell does a '19 tundra have LESS payload? That seems like insanity to me.

The numbers I'm pulling from. I'm sure it changes by model, but it just seems insane to me.

I wouldn’t take anything seriously until actual payload/tow sticker/ratings are available

Wait until you see the Ram 1500 in 2025. Payload numbers of 2300 lbs.

To be fair, you gain a ton of GVWR when the interiors rattles out of place and falls out.

Yeah...and the TRD Pro and Trailhunter were supposed to be in the $52-55k range...meanwhile a fully optioned TRD OR is $54k

Really more in curious what the deciding factor comes down to. If it's a systems calculation or there is a single limiting factor. Well likely never know the technical justification but it makes me wonder.

When Ram was Dodge, totally agree. My 2002 CTD 2500 dash about fell in my lap. Geno's garage actually sells a replacement dash for those trucks...if that says anything.

The newest Rams have nice interior's. Not sure if you have been inside one but they are pretty much leading the pack.

People said the same thing about my GMC interior. 7 years later I don't have any rattles or squeaky panels.

My Kubota 1100 RTV at work has a payload of 1600 lbs...which is cool. Doesn't make it great for anything other than light maintenance work and 22 mph.

And a chevy s10 from the '90s had a higher payload too.

I'm sure toyota is going to make payload numbers a priority on a half ton truck since that's what the majority of the market is concerned about instead of the msrp, mpg, reliability, power, cab space, and giant screens in the dash board.

Maybe, but I’m not so sure. Toyota seems far more interested in putting out a really impressive new Tacoma. This truck is their bread and butter.

400k tacomas vs 100k tundras. Do the math.

Edit, more like 220,000 Tacomas, but still, way more Tacomas than tundras.

Agree, my buddies 2019 is absolute trash following 4 years of chukar and big game hunting. It's not even close how squeaky his interior is compared to my tundra.

Glad to hear about the Chevy. I have my eyes on the 3500 srw high country when my family payload / trailer needs get too big for the tundra.
