I'm seriously thinking about buying another best gen AC, kids will just have to live with it. Have a friend with a high mile LX570 that offered it to me for 20k. Don't see myself without a truck though.

I can't get down with the LX570 but sounds like a good price. LX470 OTOH, I'm down.

I was in line for one, but I can't justify 110k for it. Should be an 80-90k truck, max. Not sure what I want to buy. In this economy, really don't want more than a 60k truck or so. Could get a turd gen, I guess.

Yeah, they are fat asses. And I don't prefer the Lexus emblem. 100 series ftw! I owned a hunnid series, and loved it. Really more of a truck guy in the end.

 

Yeah I don't care to measure in depth what my rear weight is. I built a wooden bed box most of my tools stay underneath in, and I sleep on top of it. But the bed box adds some weight ontop of the tools and the camper shell. The bastard leaf spring pack I built carries the weight well though, and my truck is higher in the rear, definitely lifted over stock. I have Timbren bumpstops for the big bumps. Need to go from 8" shocks back to 10" though. Long term I want to do a completely different spring-under-axle setup though, for more suspension travel.

 

If you are able to acquire one for $110k (what's MSRP $113-$120 on them??)... I say grab one and run it for a few months and then flip it; they grabbing $130-$150k out here on the west coast 'gently' used

The fact that you made $20k by trading in your truck shows that the economy is fine. Maybe too fine. Unemployment is at historic lows and companies keep adding jobs. The problem is that money doesn't feel real anymore. Which is evident by the fact that idiots are paying $120k for pickup trucks. We need a reset back to reality.

Unemployment is going to climb pretty hefty next year, and I expect rates to drop 1-2 points.

Main DC Pack -> Modified RC springs > Broken Toytect AALs(.5" lift block?) > DC overload

I haven't measured since it's fully settled, but after install I netted a hair more than 2-1/4" of lift at the hub and axle to frame, and hitch was 4" higher now. I was fully expecting to tear into it again and tear into my DC's main pack, but happy with the results after putting a ton of miles on it. Good arch on everything.

A custom Alcan or Deaver (Not ATS) may provide a little bit different ride with the same lift and carrying capacity since they're thinner ~10 leaf designs, but at a higher cost.

I disagree. I traded it in the spring when Raptor inventory was way up, and prices first started dropping. If I traded it in today, I wouldn't get much more than I paid for it. Honestly at the time, I got about 10k more than I thought was possible. Client manages the dealership and wanted to move some Titans, made me a deal I couldn't refuse.

I’ve been thinking about a bastard pack lift for my DC. I only want 1” or 1.5” max. I was just thinking cut up the current set and mate them up with a new ATS set (not HD). Question though - it seems like an old worn out leaf pack is gonna not have as tight a radius as a new set since it’s all worn out, so would an old set of modified leaves even be able to snug up to a new set?

 

Nah, only had 7k miles on it though. Think they are grossly underrated honestly. Mine had factory lockers, proven v8 with no start stop bs. Just a gas hog, obviously that doesn't bother our crew. Could always just get another Titan, I guess.

Making a bastard with an ATS pack sounds like a good idea in my book to save some money. In my situation, one donor leaf instead of two might have netted only 1"-1.5".
My packs were not too worn out or flat, neither were the donors. They snugged up fine... but a good point about whether they will line up snug on a new pack. The main leaf might be the best one to try pairing with the new pack first.

Reminds me of that recent video of the deer that jumped over someone's car just to slam into the truck they were selling, and you can see the buyer pull up in the background. There's a kid in the video playing basketball as this is all going down.

Anyway, this just adds to the laundry list of reasons I'll never install remote start in my truck. And I don't trust aftermarket alarms these days. And I'll never live somewhere that requires having a block heater or remote start to pre-warm the car...
