Exactly what happened. They hopped in and started it quicker than I do with a key in my pocket. No fumbling around or anything. Door wasn't even shut and the headlights were on.

Shit is crazy. @Jack McCarthy is 100% correct. It's absurd we're so far behind here b/c special interests and manufacturers fight such requirements is stupid. The fact it took so damn long just to get chipped cards over here because credit card companies and banks fought like hell is bullshit.

Well, this is not cool at all :smash:

It's beyond amazing how fast these fuckers work. With that being said, I hope you're able to recover it w/o too much issue; but as others have stated, not likely.

So, let's hope for the next best thing... Everyone in this crew ends up getting both their arms chopped off; or caught in the act by their next victim and put to rest

    I hate thieves...

My Push-button Pius has an on/off switch for the key I keep off. Not that anyone want's to steal that, but I'm contrary enough to want to make thieves work for their ill gotten goods. So I have to stick the fob in the hole.

Sorry about your theft @txagg. Figure they'll be back in a couple months to pick-up the replacement. :-(

:frusty:!!! Damn bro. Sorry that the world sucks this close to Xmas. I didn't know you had bought a new truck. The newer vehicles are easy for tech criminals/hackers to steal because of all the tech in the vehicles.

Man I've never lived in a place where that's such a concern that I would even think of getting a faraday box. That's crazy to me.

The fact you need a faraday box is idiotic. The fobs shouldn’t be continually transmitting.

Maybe put an accelerometer in it so movement triggers it to transmit? Or better yet, have a “transmit” button?

Score one for DeWalt today. I watched my friend roll an ATV going around 20. My little chainsaw was strapped to the back and got flung pretty hard. Still works. The Polaris deserves more credit. It did a full rotation, landed back on all 4 wheels, still running. The worst damage seems to be a broken mirror. Definitely a core memory.

Polaris are tough, mama bear rolled my parents in a pretty violent way. But it drove back to camp screaming “Kachow!!!!” I still have my right arm because I knew I couldn’t stop what was coming at us

We were all impressed. Parts of the ATV went flying every direction. My friend went one way. My chainsaw went another. It was like a movie scene. The seat flew off and then under the machine and in the chaos I thought it was my buddy getting crushed. Once we realized he was fine we had a long laugh. All the pieces snapped back into place on it.

The best part is that they don't even own the ATV's. My friend just borrows them from his uncle. It's always worse when you damage something that doesn't belong to you.

I think I forgot to respond to your PM @BroHon , sorry about that. I check my LBJs and many other components before and during any major trips. I do keep my old LBJs and TREs in the truck for trail replacements though... If I blow an LBJ on a trail and replace it with a spare, my offroading will be done though unless I can find a local dealer with a brand new one easily in stock.

I've decided on a 50k mile interval on OEM LBJs with my usage -- when Total Chaos releases their uniball lower joint for 04-06 I will likely upgrade and carry extra uniball parts... maybe keep an OEM LBJ on hand too. Off the top of my head, I also carry an extra CV axle, extra LBJ bolts, one extra SPC UBJ, extra misc metric nuts and bolts, wiring supplies, and fluids amongst a lot of other important items I'm forgetting. Some of the stuff I carry is because I've had a prior learning experience or fuck up in the past. Most importantly I have a Satellite phone and some insurance policies with it. I'm not prepared for every single thing that could go wrong and never will be... but I sure as shit have a good start. Almost rolled my truck off the side of a mountain once and that Sat phone saved my bacon.

Also agree with the knowing limits of the trucks. I've gotten the "dumb driving" mostly out of my system and try to stick well below the limit of my truck, especially when I'm alone.

Text a buddy that my truck was stolen, and his response was "The good one?!". Haha, not cool! Anyways, the new truck was a 2023 Titan pro4x. Traded my raptor for 20k more than I paid for it, and got the Titan close to 15k off MSRP. Didn't intend on keeping the Titan long, would have sold it before it was worth less than I paid.
