Local dealer has XL F-250s with the 6.7L Diesel and 6.8(?) gasser 4x4s for not much more than F150s. If you can handle basic amenities. Brandon Ford loans out their vehicles when yours is in the shop overnight then sells them as Demos but still considered new as you are the 1st owner. The 8ft bed XL 4x4 6.7L Diesel has 672 miles on it and asking price of $57,999 + $1295 fee and TTL.

That's a hell of a truck for that price. I don't need to tow, so I'm going to skip it but if I did tow often, I would grab it. XLT trims jumps $10k up. The only one with the 7.3L gasser is a Lariat at $72K also with an 8ft bed. Ford seems to realize the "Godzilla" gas motor is in huge demand.

Yall tripping out over the 7.3 liter gasser is lol, I saw a farmer with a single cab v10 triton motor f250 and that was a monster. Those old v10 superduty motors hold value and are in high demand. The 7,3 liter is really the first gen raptor motor with.a bigger bore. Those motors are stout but I would imagine the 7.3 has 16 plugs as well which is a pain In the rear.

My neighbor is a big cattle rancher, he loves the 7.3 godzilla because it can pull his heavy trailers just as good as a diesel without the emissions bs. It was just in the shop for a long time, he wouldn’t tell me what for, I think he had the de-lamination (they idle them a lot checking water tanks and fences.

The regular motor is rated at 400/500 using Premium.

    You're right about the 7.3, 485 now

Ah, that must the be the “premium” package or whatever they call it, makes sense, wasn’t choosing that on the builder…still think they should have it on the base tremor since it seems more lariat than xlt to me, could be wrong tho.

Yes live and learn, it’s a miracle I made it thru my early 20’s alive. Haha

You probably looked at the 401A which is effectively based on the XLT, 402A is more closely based on the Lariat. 402A is also the only way you get the Raptor/HighLock Transfer Case.

I will say this right now...... Grainger Ford has F-150 Lariats marked down $10k plus. You can get in a really nice Lariat right now for $52-55k

Holy crap I thought maybe those would be 2.7 Lariats as I saw quite a few of them when I shopped and would get excited about the sub 60k price before checking the motor. But these are discounted 3.5 trucks at Grainger. I'd love to know what the catch is here besides maybe they have to blow 2023s out the door with the refresh coming.

If that's legit they'll probably just start an airport shuttle service for the out of Towners coming in to grab them.

They literally have a guy whose full time job is to drive between the airport and the dealership.

My case was you don't get a loaner until they actually start the work on your vehicle/but always never had any loaners at that time. Never look at a Ford again !

Absolutely no catch.... These large online dealers make it stupid easy! They are well oiled machines and ship all over the country! I know 3 people bought from them and would do again. There process is so much more stream lined and easy compared to a local dealer.....

I am not going to lie, I bought a new 2024 GMC Elevation 1500 with 3.0 Duramax last week from the country's largest volume GMC dealership in Collinsville, IL. After me and the wife test drove a new 2024 Limited.

    1. Requested quote and filled out information Wednesday night. Agreed to price and all documents signed and closed in 20 minutes by email at 7:20pm.

    2. Sent to finance department. Took 5 minutes. Instead of selling they said let's see if we can find some more discounts. Got another 1,500 from GM for repeat customer, and another $500 for something I can't remember.... Took that and applied it to an 8-Year/$100,000 mile GM Platinum warranty not third party. Dropped price $2,050, applied discounts and got it for $50.

    2. Got in a rental car at 8:00pm in Knoxville. Drove 6 hours, stayed the night, drove one more hour to Collinsville. Salesman was there waiting at Avis to pick me up. Pulled in the lot and 60 vehicles were in front lot, about 55 trucks. Those were all cleaned up and were pick ups being picked up that day with people coming from all over the country. They have 5 older retired gentleman and that is all they do is drive a Yukon and go pick people up in St. Louis at the airport all day.

    3. Walked in dealer, signed the odometer certification(only signature required in person) keys handed to me, in truck with all Sirrus, phone, GPS setup within 30 minutes of getting to dealer.

    4. Made the 499 mile trip back to Knoxville. Made a stop at Menards and 2 Bucee's on the way home. Back home by 8pm. Fun as hell road trip and took exactly 24 hours. Got 30.7 MPG on my way home, averaging 25.7 on mixed stop and go city and country roads over the first 1,000 miles.

They have a 10 acre lot out back and it is about 1/3 to 1/2 full. They usually have 3k to 5k vehicles on the lot in the hey day before Covid, starting to get back to that. When I bought they had 297 1500 trucks in all different trims lined up and organized by color and trim levels.

They own 7 of their own hot shot trucks and can fit 3 vehicles on each. All 7 trucks were being loaded up and going to deliver all over the country that day.

I bought outright, but they are not big on trades. They had about 60 vehicles sitting on back lot and all were going to be loaded up and sold at auction. It has to be less than 2 years old, and less than 30k miles and popular vehicle to consider trade if you are not local.

I guarantee Grainger is no different. These dealers are absolutely straight forward, want to get you in and out quickly, rinse and repeat.

You can literally buy now on website and go pick up. Almost a Tesla model or like buying something online.

Even on raptors back in the day, f150 is the most popular truck in America they sell hundreds and hundreds of thousands of them, they better have huge discounts on them

Great story and way to buy. I don't like hanging out at dealers. I test drove Tundra at the local dealer and gave them a shot at the purchase. They tried but couldn't find the truck I wanted. I bought through a broker and got my 1794 for about $5K off when they were very, very hard to get. In and out of the dealer in 30 minutes. I'm never buying the "old" way again.

Granger was the same experience, I was literally 5 minutes in the dealership. Signed one document, handed over the check and I was done.

I think they only make a few hundred bucks on each truck, it’s all about volume.

The 7.3L is not related to the 5.4 or 6.2L in any way. Those are ohc motors while the 7.3 is a pushrod.

The V10 was torquey but guzzled gas and hp was a bit lower. The 7.3L is surprisingly efficient.

GM’s new 6.6L seems ridiculously efficient.
