I’m thinking about adding an aftermarket light to where the fake hoods vent is on my tundra and wonder if there ones that are premade where I can drill a small hole into the plastic to where I can feed the wire/mount etc… here is my tundra so you can see the hood where I am talking about just above the grill.

IMG_2966.jpg I got mine from RC. I only wired the amber light. It comes with both amber and white. It wasn’t hard to do. Just took a little while. At least for me it did. But, I like it.

I like it but is it bright? The only reason I want it is so I can use as an extra light for going through dark country roads because I do that from time to time.

Unfortunately, the answer is pretty much no... @2014 Black tundra has the advantage of the 2014 face lift that changed that hood bulge and grill setup. If you take off your grill you will pretty quickly find that there is no room in the 2nd gen bulge to put a real light bar without some pretty significant work and the fit and finish will be nowhere near the 2014+ trucks that can physically put a lightbar inside the hood bulge.

I just mounted it on the inside grill bottom frame. Lights up the back roads just fine.

I'd start by upgrading your headlights to an led assembly (not just putting led bulbs in your halogen assembly). You will be amazed how much better your visibility will be. If that isn't enough, then add in a light bar or ditch lights depending where you need the illumination.

No, it’s not light bar brightness. You can see a difference but it’s not very bright. If you want light bar brightness in your hood bulge , (putting a light bar in your hood bulge), you’ll have to do some major modifying. You could always put a light bar in your bumper slot.

Found the pictures of my grill out if that helps... It is just a plastic cover in a small recess. There is no actual space there.
