I love this guy. Shames people repeatedly on this forum for buying something that might not be practical (in this case, maybe impractical since stock is indeed already a CAI)...yet rolls with a train horn! Hypocrisy is correct @TRDFerguson!!

@RI2021Platinum5.7 looks great. I knew I didn't need one but bought it as well because I like the way it looks. Do whatever mod brings you joy. Ignore the nuts in the peanut gallery.

Great idea - I may do this as well, as my 'new to me' truck didn't come with any bed liner protection (but it did come with a nice canopy). Right now I'm using an old door-mat that I lay down every time I set something on the tailgate. I was thinking of applying some spray or roll-on bed liner just to the tailgate (since I already bought a bed mat for the truck) but the plywood seems like a better option since it would be a flat surface.

Question, did you use the factory bolt holes for the inner panel (the one that covers the tailgate lock) or did you drill your own through the metal? Are the torx screws that hold this small panel on long enough with the plywood installed to just re-use them you think?

Great questions. Yes I used the factory screw hole locations. I didn’t want to send a bunch of ugly self tappers into the sheet metal there even though no one would ever see them. I did not want to use the factory torx screws because those cannot be flush screwed into wood & look nice because of the flange they have on them. I went to ace hardware and found some nice stainless coarse thread screws that are a tad longer & used those instead. It was a little tricky to get all of my stenciled screw holes to line up but she’s in there at all the factory spots. They’re only plastic screw grabber inserts inside the tailgate but they work fine

Wash, claybar, 1 step polish (with sonax perfect finish), then coated with AMMO Reflex, then I mounted my $50 marketplace awning. My goal was to get it as close to the tent as possible, nice and tight, sucked in there, not dangling out or down from the tent.

Nice Rey! :anonymous: That is the 4th power steering cooler I tried. Definitely the correct choice for the stock steering system, runs much cooler. Looks awesome also.

Nice, that's pretty close to where we cut ours down. We went up through Foresthill and headed towards Donner on Soda Springs Rd.

I fixed the biggest mysterious tundra issues ...1 the mysterious noise coming from the wheel well.....2 the steering wheel wobble. ......also i figured out its not a good idea to instalm a TRD sway bar or install any aftermarket spring n shocks...lol

That’s the equivalent of telling someone their new wheels were purely cosmetic.

They did in fact already have wheels on the truck when it was purchased, but maybe they felt a change, at their own cost, would make them happier.

so because you have tires that are wearing unevenly, your saying don’t install a rear sway bar?

Just curious, any issues with a slight whine after install? I installed an aftermarket cooler to relocate mine and on cold days ill have a slight whine on full lock. Its been bled properly and the fluid and level is per spec. Been like that for almost 2 years now.

Took a small trip out of town. Was hoping to bike or hike but the weather turned. Ended up at a museum but thought the truck looked good so I took a picture. Love visiting smaller towns and just the whole small town vibe. Asked for a dinner recommendation and was told the good place is the other side of town if I was willing to drive that far.... it took 6 minutes

Be careful with them recommendations. Last time I asked someone for a recommendation for a restaurant, two cooks went at it with fists and a pair of scissors and I ended up having to restrain via full nelson the instigator and calling the cops. O_O

 Good guess, but no....although it definitely fell within the same, uh, 'clientele' class. I probably didn't look as good during the takedown as the Waffle House Shield Maiden.
