Speaking of that, we have to switch to short bus helmets Type 2 hard hats by the end of the year. Looks like I’m gonna have to start my sticker collection over.

Wrong. Look at the ads. The F series are the best selling trucks in America. Marketing is lying as legally as possible, and they fudge that statement to imply that everybody is driving whatever model they are peddling, when it takes all of their trucks including fleets to pull that off.

 

Why the switch?
We just switched over to carbon fiber, still full brim though.

Most commercial general contractors we work for are switching to Type 2 on 1/1. Several projects have been using them over a year already (like the airport). They offer side/front/rear impact protection in addition to top (standard Type 1).
By March we are rolling it out company wide (including industrial and other trades).

for me, it means a slightly more compact hard hat that I can more easily strap to the outside of my backpack when traveling…

I can also tacticool the fuck out of it with accessories like lights and lasers

 

Hell yeah

 

I will miss my full brim micarta/fiber helmet though…

 

I hope you saved a "Rich Kid Shit" sticker for it if you're gonna tacticool it!

I definitely want more of that one. I bought one or two (can't remember) and once I get a bigger bike I plant to stick it on there.

Damn. Pretty sure I just watched somebody die in a gif. For another site I googled forklift gif, found one, used it, and then proceeded to click on more for the laughs. Then this one popped up. Don't open the spoiler if you are uncomfortable at the though of seeing somebody's likely last moments. I'd say 98.9% sure they are dead. It's not gory, or anything, but it wasn't pleasant either.

Be careful around equipment folks.

Ran a few different forklifts for almost a decade, and the clearance under the rear where the counterweight sits is pretty minimal. Even on our large outdoor forks, larger than the one in the gif, there was maybe 10 inches of clearance at the back. The weight is kept as low as possible, so I really doubt that wasn't a fatality.

 

No different than most people. Can't handle having an error, or ignorance, corrected. Pretty normal.
