That is a great tool to have in your back pocket!
Don't discount the motion of the axle. That pin does have some motion in the axle. I had a problem on a Tacoma in the past. Loosening the springs and sliding the axle made a difference. Does not seem like much but....

Yeah. When weather allows, I'll slacken both sides and pull both ends in opposite to shift it CCW. It is not much, maybe a degree or so.

I actually paid for alignment to correct that. $180 and here I go: a front toe adjusted, so the steering wheel looks straight. Not the truck drives straight, it is too involved and out of budget.

The tool is very useful and will eventually pay for itself.

Ah, simple enough. Thanks for the pic. I just changed the PCV valve, so can see exactly how that works.

Do yourslf a favor and buy a proper seal from a topper place. Not that much money and does exactly what it is supposed to.

My knees told me I had to replace my inner tailgate panel & to be honest I am sick and tired of not being able to set almost anything down on it without it falling over because of the hard ribbed design. So I cut out a piece of .5” hardwood plywood and screwed it on. This is temporary & I will eventually stain and finish the wood but for now this is such an upgrade to use as a work surface, kitchen or a bench. And I refuse to pay $250*+ for the aftermarket tailgate panels. Also scored a cheap Amazon awning on fb marketplace for $50. Working on my mounts for it now.

Drill and 4.5” cutting wheel on my disc grinder lol.

I used some flat steel I had laying around. Just measure, cut and drill. Mine is mounted in 3 locations and I only drilled 1 hole in the center support. The other 2 were factory holes. It will depend on what cooler you use and where you want to mount it.

Not a bad idea. I'm wondering how Raptor liner would work on it versus stain.

Yeah either way I’m not worried about it staying “nice and new” looking. I think I’m going to stick with a simple waterproof sealer that way it isn’t overly tacky or anything. Just a durable work surface for whatever I need.

True. It won't be seen most of the time. The only advantage to the pockets on the tailgate is for holding hardware when doing a project. Otherwise its hard on the knees. A flat bed surface would be nice too.
