The thing is that like with any high mileage vehicle, at some point you have to decide whether you want to suffer some number of random breakdowns and failures and keep pumping $ in to repair it. When that becomes too much of a PITA the depreciation issue becomes moot and you just have to bite the bullet. The truly amazing thing is that you have essentially got there already with a 2 year old vehicle. And a Toyota nonetheless. Sorry you sold the farm. I am going to miss the cow stories.

Keep it and get a new GX or something. I’d stay away from bmw’s but that’s just me.

thought I remember you wanting a tow pig but if you sold the farm maybe you don’t need that either.

Forget about the pricing for the moment. I am north of the 49th parallel and need to add 30% to everything in US dollars. yeah ,,oh and 13% tax after that too.
    What I want to know.
The Hybrid is Toyota's answer to forget all about a V8.
I have driven the non-hybrid it has lag - ok.
But the hybrid ? Have not driven one. First time I am hearing about throttle lag.

Was the Bed squeak so bad you can't drive with the rear window down ?

Euro, be patient. Prices will come down. Not like your heap is going to depreciate at a faster rate than it already has….

Bed squeak on mine is getting pretty bad too. Its probably the most irritating thing so far. Some noises are character, but that's exactly how you said it, f-n "ridiculous" for these trucks.

Maybe after they fix the front end aesthetics. I’d have to buy a GMC purely for that reason and eat the extra cost.

8.29% APR, jeez... I can get a road-worthy car, drive it till it dies, then get another one, and so on. And that's just for money covering bank's margin at this high rate.

Cars under 75k on clock gets better interest and financing. Above 100k banks don’t like to give out loans.

This is the key to remember -
Would you like a $650k mortgage at 7%? What are people thinking signing up to pay $50k in interest on loans annually?

It depends. Housing is more complex. For example, the house could be in town with the best school (though the mortgage would be $1M+) and with a good price growth trajectory. When you sell it in the future, the margin will beat the inflation and bank's profit.

I was lucky enough to buy my house before COVID and move in there after COVID (and sell my previous property, on the peak). As crazy as it sounds, the new house could be almost paid off by the margin we've made. Though it makes no sense, since APR is fixed and is lower than the inflation.

I'm also a proud 0% APR for 60 months Tundra owner =) Previous car we purchased was also 0% for 60 months. We sold it at the peak and got a V8 Sequoia. At the peak, too, but 3% APR is tolerable, and we fought all the markups, options, extra warranty and other dealer shit off (paid MSRP). And it is a V8 TRD PRO, which never breaks, blah-blah-blah...

Me. I changed jobs and relocated at a shit time. My only blessing is my rent is $1900 for 4 bed house in a top rated area of SATX. I can justify it because it’s less than property taxes alone per year on an equivalent value house

440k loan (after 20% down) with 15 years and 6% interest makes a payment of $3700 + $750 + $200 = $4650 a month. Of that about $1700 goes to principal , rest is bs. Figure even being able to itemize taxes (which I do always for W2G) it’s negligent.

and it’s honestly not nice to own . Care free maintenance and repair
