@dirtnsmores What did you do for rear lift and what size open country’s are those? We’re truck twins and I love seeing what other DC phantom grey guys have going.

 

It's a silver truck. Those are 255/80/17.

The rear doesn't have a lift yet. Front is up 2". Waiting to get my camper on to do my rear.

What is the clearance like on those tires? I had the same size on my taco and the clearance was great apart from cutting/bending the pinch weld

 

I have a slight rub on the inner fender but it's rare has to be the perfect angle. It's definitely not hitting the cab mount. My offset is 0 mm on these wheels. Yeah I ran this exact setup on my Tacoma that I'm currently selling and it was great. Zero rub. If I had the SPC UCAs on this truck, I could move it slightly forward and it wouldn't rub at all. That's what I have on the Tacoma and I was able to move the wheel slightly forward and eliminate the rub

As long as it didn’t rain the week before. It gets nasty out there. I don’t care for crawling, but I’m pretty experienced and it’s a very doable park so long as you don’t get caught up in the 4 and 5 rated stuff. Would recommend sliders, but I didn’t touch once the whole day. Only pics I got of the obstacles we did.

I’ve been trying to go to Jambo but the truck was always in the shop. Last time it was getting fab work done for a Moab trip. Couple of my buddies like crawling. Just not my jam.

also I think most of the stuff in north Texas is pretty tame. After doing hells revenge and others in Moab everything is just meh lol

Ah yeah it looked a little darker under the overpass. I've thought about the 255s but I don't really have any snow to worry about, so I never considered it too much. It always seemed like folks talked about how the skiny tires were better in snow and ice. Which we get for 4 or 5 days a year.

 

I don't have them for snow. They just fit better without trimming and are lighter than 285s with same load rating. These e load tires are 51lbs. With that said, I may try something else down the road. These were taken offs from my Tacoma. Honestly I love this tire size.

Picked up a Four Wheel Camper Hawk slide-in camper this Friday. To say I'm excited would be an understatement! Now to properly install some reinforced eyebolts for the turnbuckles and slowly upgrade the suspension for the increased payload. Bilstein 5100 shocks with OME 2884 springs have been ordered, and I'm researching leaf spring upgrades as well.

 

See my signature. The HD springs listed there from ATS Should help stiffen up the rear. Unless you really want to drop 2x-3x as much for Deavers or Archive Garage leafs. The latter may work better because you can give those guys exact weight measurements and they should be able to figure out what you'll need. But I suspect the ATS "HD" leafs along with Firestone helper bag kit will work nicely if you're on a budget and don't need the big names attached.

 

I appreciate the weigh in. I was kind of wondering how much improvement there really is with a custom pack from the big name brands compared to the "HD" preassembled ones I've come across. The ATS ones might be worth trying at just over $500 shipped for both sides. Ideally, I don't want to run air bags as I hear suspension articulation can suffer. Maybe I'll look into an RAS or AAL if the ATS leafs alone don't give a satisfactory ride.

Yup, I paid $500 shipped for a pair of ATS HD leafs. Got roughly 2” lift, most people get 1.75-2.0”

And don’t confuse airbags with helper bags (if you are). Helper bags are just there to help with sag, tighten things up in the rear when you’ve got a load. The Firestone kit a lot of guys on here are using is pretty straightforward, almost idiot proof.
