This, or if no switch is available to you, I ran a jumper wire in the harness to have them "on" with the headlights until I can get a switch.

Rolled her to 293k today, and she just couldn't be without more attention:rofl:
Couple questions (I'm still working through a PO's "work")
I think he put the wrong fan-clutch on it, like for a newer 1st gen, the stem looks short compared to what I am seeing shopping.
Either that or the fan blade was cheap and too flexible... (it looked that beat up from day one)
Looks like about 2 inches between the blades and the back of the radiator.
The issue (from day one) was when I revved the engine by hand under the hood, the fan blade would lightly smack the water outlet/thermostat housing neck.
It wasn't bad just a couple tappity taps, and I never heard it while driving, until today.

Does this fan clutch stem seem a bit short for my 2000?

When the blade left the chat it took the rad with it. Can get a Denso for decent price $138, is that the best option?
Other similar priced are "KOYORAD" and "TYC"

Any source for fan blade I might be missing?
Maybe salvage yard... Not paying $150 for OEM

    Thanks for any advice:hattip:

Got her the 3-4 miles to home w/o over heating (35deg out) and she is resting comfortably, got everything removed in about 30 min.

Your fan blade is broken anyway, may as well replace the whole assembly to be safe. Go OEM and you'll never regret it.

This kit worked great for my tired aftermarket lenses. Holding up well for the last month, will continue to monitor.

Yeah, that was the plan, to replace it all. The problem with OEM is i'm working with a slightly more constrained budget than, well, most people here it seems
It's also on a truck that isn't worth sinking top dollar into. I'm just trying to figure out wtf the major malfunction is here... too short of a clutch, or too flexible a fan, or hell, even the wrong water outlet/thermostat housing.
I guess I can just buy the shorter looking one and bumblefuck my way through it with spacers if it makes contact again.

I’ll get to see how it holds up in typical New England winter salt/slush weather. My confidence isn’t high yet.

I have my spare OEM fan clutch I was holding onto as a spare. I only replaced mine as I was also doing a radiator. PM me if you're interested.

Nope, she's a single school teacher. Was engaged to a guy and caught him cheating. Soured her on the entire deal. Plan on putting $2-3k of work into this car for her.

It's Mevotech's TTX, off road bro brand. Wasn't my first choice, but is the best I could find. TRW made the originals for Ford, but no longer produces them. Discontinued through Ford parts as well. The original upper was designed with a non replaceable ball joint, so not rebuildable. The Expedition was originally built with air ride all the way around. That was deleted and has a Rancho shock in the front. Seems to have held up well, shows made in USA.

Rundown of parts brands I have ordered:

Suspensia- made in turkey, okay quality
SKP- was labeled heavy duty by rock auto but is made in china. Not impressed.
Delphi- sway bar bushings. Made in USA, and looks/feels to be of good quality. Firm heavy rubber and clean mold markings.
Mevotech- Made in China, not impressed.
Aisin- Made in Japan, so you already know. OE supplier for the ignition coils and power window motor/regulator

wth is the "vig"? :rofl:Do I want to know??
I don't have any PayPal or shit like that, and I'm not going to. Ide have to mail you the money, then you ship... by that time I can have one here and installed, and time (before it fkn snows) is of the essence.
Truly appreciate the offer though, thanks assassin

No prob. if a comparison pic or measurement will help let me know.

The vig is a betting term, the bookies cut basically.

After a few hours of looking at vids/pics etc.. I think I have it figured out. The shorter of the two clutches is the correct one.
Far as I can deduce the blade I had was shit, too flexible. But that clearance on that water inlet/thermostat housing is Damn tight.
Maybe a pic of your clearance as a reference... but I think my path is already set.
NON-OEM Fans for these 4.7L are scarce. Looks like the salvage yard for me. Those dudes are assholes lol.
