Sunday easy today...New personalized Arizona "Route 66" license plate mounted. Cleaned and vacuumed the interior in anticipation of the new Wet Okole front seat covers. Scrubbed the interior of the stock airbox clean and soaked and brushed the AFe permanent air filter, solar dried it in warm sunshine and reinstalled.

That's one way to make a 1st post ... throw a SC in everyone's face to get their attention

But the two things I noticed ... what's with the horns, and that intake tube?

    Welcome to the forum!

They're Hella (loud) horns...True Eurotrash "pay attention to me" sound.

The Airbox mod was a very early attempt at giving the box two inlets. One in the front of the box along with the original intake. I have a cap to screw on if needed or wanted. Not sure of any benefit, but in the early days we were looking for anything that produced mythical horsepower. Live and learn as they say.

Bet you'll approach your next Fluid Filming a little differently - a little more target-focused.
The bed-ectomy is a great learning on how/where to F.F.

This at least is on my existing bed, and not the new one but it is concerning how it might have spread to the frame in that area. Will know more soon enough I guess.

Planning to try and clean that one bolt up with some phosphoric acid.

Every once in awhile I allow myself the luxury of not thinking big brother is watching.
Then Youtube recommends a video that just proves "they" have been listening to my posts on Tundras.

I know K&N had a very similar kit to the airaid. Not sure if it's also discontinued or not. If you can't find the smooth tube, another option is the Volant CIA. It has it's own airbox.

Yes K&N does have a kit but its for the VVTI models 05+. I want the air intake tube keeping the stock airbox.

I get that. But I believe the Volant is a great alternative and might be the only available option

Ditto, this is kinda why I was asking earlier. I’d like to ditch the stock elbow for something that flows smoother and looks nicer. And keep the stock air box/OEM filter. But I have an ‘06.

The 2000 model year horns are junk, they changed them to what I'd consider "regular" two tone horns in 01

Yeah, don’t want the K&N kit. Dyno testing has shown losses using the K&N kit for our trucks, at least with the K&N filter inclusive. And users report a shitload of gunk build up in the TB/intake/MAF from the oiled filter. I’m just interested in the arm alone. Maybe just the K&N elbow is OK but the design is pinched at one point which is a turnoff.

I'm glad I bought my Airaid when I did. They seemed to have discontinued em like right after. That being said, I also highly regard my Volant. Both are great.

@empty_lord mentioned above that the elbow alone from the full Airaid kit will fit with the oem box. I might go that route but $299 just for the elbow in pricey. Same part number for all years 513-163. The Aem filter is available on Amazon part # 28-20144. 1 left in stock. I'm running that exact filter on my 03 GX470 and 04 Sequoia
