I spent 50-55 minutes reeling this Chinook in the other day. 31.5” long, and about 20 lbs

20 days until Montana.... I can't wait. Just set up a reddington 5wt with sage reel I'll take with me and maybe a lightweight spinner.

Once I get back it's only two weeks of work, then off to MI for the Chinook run.

Hope to have some worthwhile pictures to share. These days are dragging :D

We went to hang out by the river this evening so I brought my new rod along to try it out. I was just casting and screwing around but managed to hook this 2.5lb walleye.

No idea. I let this one go, I don't eat fish (I know, I'm weird) and I didn't have any way to process it and bring it home for The Woman since I wasn't expecting to actually catch anything.

Good day of fishing in Yellowstone. Landed 3 rainbows, 2 browns, and two whitefish. Caught 2 on dry fly (hopper) which was fun as hell. Fishing barbless led to losing about 4-6 fish (two were big ) but what a beautiful day. Also seeing two big wolves about 100 yards away was a bonus (along with a couple buffalo on way in). Tomorrow morning headed back into park to sight see, then about three hours away to another leg of the fishing/Montana bucket list trip.

This chinook was 19.5lbs, 32” long, and makes my boat look big, right? :D

I also caught a 16 lb’er later that morning but didn’t take pictures. Daily and monthly limits reached, not a bad way to wrap up the last day of the season.

First time fly fishing. My friend who owns all the fishing gear said it’s tricky to catch a native Brook Trout here in the creek. And this was the biggest fish of the day!

Well I haven't been out in almost two months now and I'm already itching and the sad part is it's not even winter yet!

Somebody has to be still fishing and catching stop holding out on us and show me some fish porn!

Another Red off the pier at our campground. I've been measuring them wrong using the fork of the tail instead of being folded for maximum length. Nose to fork was 41" and weight was 27.6#. Caught on a 9/0 circle hook baited with a Croaker. Released in good condition.IMG_20231215_062727.jpg
