Whatever this forum told me to do
I'd buy the range extender & leave it in there.

because..... I started needing a few more minutes @ Rudy's BBQ & adding 15 minutes to my supercharging time would be perfect my digestion timetable.

    science.

Definitely a interesting truck. I like the fact that they have the range extender to put in there in order to tow anything. Crappy thing is it takes so much of the bed space. Teslas overall are pretty bad ass...but after looking at Model S P100D's and their depreciation over the miles and years, OUCH. I would expect the Cyberbeast will get to steep depreciation as well when they are able to meet demand with supply. I am not cashing in my reservation I made the first week as of yet. I want to see more reviews of the truck and real world towing numbers. I haul a pontoon boat which is an efficiency killer and much like a parachute behind my Tundra.

He didn’t touch on a lot of the small little things like in bed storage, rear seat screen, bed lights, bed power, bed cover, etc. It has some pretty cool features that make it useful. Funny how he talks about it being big but this would fit in my garage better than my Tundra since it is shorter even with a bed that is 6” longer.

A lot of folks need to watch that video. But I know it will always end in “blah blah blah charging blah blah blah.”

It’s almost like the argument assumes everyone has like a 200 mile daily commute

Counterpoint: A lot of folks need to realize that EVs are not practical for people who live different lives in different places than said folks. :stirthepot:

Quite frankly it should perform great in an urban setting like Chicago with all the gun fire going on and most importantly, ideal for licensed gamers wanting the Halo look. :burp:

Leave it to Cammisa and Hagerty to drop a great video - they always do. That made me appreciate the engineering and capability a whole lot!

Great to see the launch of the Cybertruck was a success. Now Elon needs to back his word and get all the reservation holders their truck.

Better than nothing, but not for the measly range boost, IMO.

Do people really believe if you step foot in Chicago you will be shot? Like it's an iron curtain of lead? It's a city with 2.7 million people. Of course there is going to be shootings It's not even the most dangerous city in IL. This is coming from someone who lives near and frequently visits Chicago. I've heard more gun fire in the rural area I live in than all the times I've been in Chicago.

Also, I agree with @GODZILLA, EV's have their place and purpose. Most commuters could use an EV, but they are not practical for ALL uses. Honesty, for the 1 camping trip I go on a year, an EV is inconvenient, that's why I won't do one, and I'm just pulling a small pop-up.

IDK why people get so hung up on the charging and range issue. Do you fill your tank up with gas every day? No. If you have your own garage, you can have a full charge every day. Point goes to EV then?

That’s the point. There should never be an argument on range and charging. (Unless it’s just ridiculously low across benchmark standards)

I'm assuming you were being sarcastic? It's one of those things to where people only believe what they hear without using rational thought.

But also don't need to get into any of that on a truck forum talking about EVs.

~30% isn’t insignificant. The real info I want to see if how it does on range when towing.
