Tried to work with them and they kept saying coming out soon and then found better product out there GO RHINO electric E1 retractable running boards and couldn't be HAPPIER!! They are tucked up perfectly and have 3 hinge points and will hold 600lbs and have lights TOO! Sorry real trucks some one makes a better product!

For those of you with Hybrid Iforce Max Tundras, the AMP Research power boards mount perfectly. There is a brace that requires drilling through the floor, but the wiring is not compatible. The harness for this system is designed for the non hybrid truck and the plug and play OBD connection does not communicate with the AMP ecu to deploy the boards on hybrid vehicles. AMP Techline confirmed all of this after purchasing and installing and never seeing any disclaimer or compliance warning on the website where purchased, nor the instruction manual. The Techline said they have heard of shops developing a workaround but nothing official from AMP has been, and possibly, never will be release for the Hybrid models.

Hope this information helps someone avoid the trouble.

Interesting… certainly not what I wanted to hear but thank you for the info.

I have a Limited Hybrid, I’m really hoping for the Amp Xtreme boards to become available but seems I’ll be waiting for a while… Toyota will probably have the GEN 3.5 model by the time they get released…

I got pretty excited when I saw there were more e-boards on the market. Trying to find out how far they drop from the sill, that seems to be a challenge. Normal steps, once I leveled and mild lifted the Truck made it hard for my wife to get in easily. Looking at the Powerstep and Powerstep XL, best I can tell from pictures the Powerstep seems to be about 9" or so and the XL maybe 12 or 13"

    Can anyone else confirm?

Anybody get word from Amp? I’ve been on their list for a while and they emailed a few days ago saying the normal power steps are in and they are plug and play.
I’m skeptical about it, but the rep is stating specifically no magnets.

If I remember it does state on their website they are not for the hybrid. If you enter in your vehicle it will not show any steps compatible. I was checking almost every month. I’m gonna go with the go rhinos. Tired of waiting and hearing good things

Ordered my regular powerstep back in August, but keep getting told that AMP is having issues of some kind.

I had the XL's installed on my Hybrid last month. They were plug and play. Work great so far. They are a little lower, but actually like that since it's easy for me to put my foot on them and not have any sliding off the seat. Sometimes steps can be too high to use when getting out unless you turn sideways.

Weird, the rep said the normal ones do not work with the hybrid. Why would the XL's work as plug and play? Might have to try those instead.

I had mine installed at a local Campway shop. I went in there knowing they didn't have the regular ones and they confirmed. But said the XL's would work and they do. Been perfect for a month. If your truck has any kind of lift they are actually quite nice IMO. Only thing is, while the steps are hidden, you can see the covering that the steps are behind. You can see on their site.

I noticed realtruck had the regular AMPs in-stock, ready to ship on black friday. I pulled the trigger and they were in my garage 2 days later. I hope to get started on installation tomorrow, just been waiting for the weather to clear up a bit. Instructions do seem mostly "plug and play" sans a wire splice under the dash and the drilling of two holes in the rear floor of truck. I'll go slow and hopefully not mess anything up.

Got mine installed earlier this week, ordered through and installed at a local shop, wonder if drilling into the floor will be susceptible to rust?

So do they actually work? Plug and play as they advertise?
