    Hello, 2006 Tundra. Replacing pads.
Conflicting research articles/videos concerning pads squeeker tab.
Installed inside or outside? Up or down?
    Appreciate your time.

Stock, with a few cosmetic mods.
Have you already torn into the job? Do one side at a time, refer to the untouched side.

Need. More. Info. Brake pads? Doesn’t matter. The pads should either fit, or not. Whichever way they are designed to fit, the squeaker will do its job.

Driver side different than passenger side. Hence, questions.

TRQ says to put them on the inboard side with the squeaker at the bottom. Though in all likelihood, it shouldn't matter.

    Imma keep it stock
It’s recommended at the bottom because of rotation direction

Oh and DO NOT forget to use CRC Brake Quiet to glue the shims to the pads. Unless you like screechy brakes. I didn’t believe it, and guess what every cold start back out sounds like? REEEEeeeeEeeeEeeeEeee.

Dunno what I’m talking about? Consult the Toyota Maintenance channel on YouTube. He walks thru it.

Same.....but its not worth it to me to pull them apart just for that. Always gets peoples attention though then I back up my truck for the first time after sitting.

Is this really all it takes? I'm so sick of mine screaming when I back out my driveway. Just pull the pads and separate the shims slather that stuff between in then put them back on?

Yep. But I think you’ll find you specifically have one or two pads which are separated from the shim and that’s your problem. On mine it is specifically my front driver side. One shim was already loose and while doing my UCA/CO I separated the other but was out of disc brake quiet.

Seems like the auto e-brake on our current gen Highlander has a similar hang up.
