Wish I had taken a pic or two of my recent install of the Rago dash plate and ICS lower dash mount support plate. I'll second Tripleconpanna's observation that it makes the Rago dash plate pretty rock solid (no flex in the dash at all). When I was considering the ICS lower support plate, I ran across another member's pic of it installed (see 2nd pic): Link to Ellis McPickle's Post. On my install, I did not run into the problem that Ellis_McPickle ran into with one of the new holes being too close to the edge of the ICS plate. For me, centering the Rago plate over the ICS plate and marking the holes where they should be, the holes to be made in the ICS plate were close, but there was still plenty of meat left to the edge.

Did you run power to yours? Just tap into a cigarette lighter?

Correct. Just did two wire taps into the wires leading to the cigarette lighter. The power for the right cigarette lighter is ignition activated (at least on the 2014 - 2018 2nd Gen), so no worry about draining the battery.

Bought direct from Lamin-x they are the industry leaders on these types of films for sure. I could tell the product wasn’t a cheap one. Was only like $20

True, but the last pic in Post #87920 is (I believe) with the ICS dash plate. The holes for the Rago plate are different and require holes to be drilled in the ICS plate. The pic I linked to gives a good idea of where those holes are to be drilled.

I just made my own out of a piece of scrap sheet metal I had laying around. It’s not rocket surgery

Absolutely correct. And if I had not recently moved to a new house, and my wife ordered me to get rid of "all those useless pieces of scrape laying around," I would have made one myself. I will say, however, that the ICS plate is way more stout (thicker) than any piece of scrap sheet metal I had laying around at my prior house. Its really a nice, quality piece.

...that's from the website. I don't have any on the underside of mine; sorry I was doing the Rago mount, FRAC and a couple of other things while the dash was apart so I didn't take time for photos.... or were you referring to the topside??? That won't show the ICS plate, just the Rago...

Welp.... All of my truck plans got put on hold. After finally moving back home 4 years ago, I used the truck last week to scope and inspect a new property up in northern Florida. so all my pennies are being saved to get through the financing portion and then buying my shop and tractor... fun fun!

But she did get new air filters after that road trip and a fresh oil change yesterday :D

Had an ICS amount first then went to the Rago mount and when I did, I made the holes match from what I had already drilled to the new mount so it would be noticeable. I have my pics in here somewhere. I would have to dig for them

Since we’re on dash mounts…. Has anyone had any experience with ball mounts sort of wearing out? I’ve had ICS ball mount arms for a good while now and they seem a bit weaker now. They don’t hold quite as solidly as they did when new.

It was a Thanksgiving treat for me: got the truck back from the shop earlier than expected. And after I thwarted some aftermarket part shenanigans (they tried to replace my OEM 19 TRD Pro headlight with some no-brand Prime piece) it is back better than ever! I also used the long weekend to install my BF dashcam (Viofo A229 Pro) and the driver grab handle I picked up from the pick-n-pull last month. The color diff in the handle didn't bother me as much once installed; it's dark enough in the cab to minimize. Note: wow, trying to get down into the fuse box behind the e-brake to hardwire the dashcam required some crazy contorting and back strain! I couldn't get a consensus on an "always hot" fuse other than the driver's power seat, but some comments suggest it isn't hot during crank. If anyone knows of a better fuse to tap into than the ones highlighted, I'd appreciate the info.

Finished installing the Meso black out kit. I had already installed black vent rings from @Voda48 that 3D printed them. Might be selling the Meso ones NIB soon.

Really pleased with the interior now at this point.

Nothing too exciting, just chipping away at the egregious interior chrome, one piece at a time.

If you are going to actually use the winch, go with the SDHQ. If you are doing this more for visual, I like the look of the Victory Blitz. The winch mount points are not well supported and can bend while being used. I learned this after having the Blitz so I just added some more color match!

I didn't because I never installed a winch. But @BlueRibbon4x4 had bending and there are additional threads on it to.

Start here but the next few pages are about how he resolved this since he uses his winch often. Geno is incredible and if you have similar skill or know a shop, then you should be able to make the Blitz work for you.

Woah, that a pretty poor mounting design. I’ll look else at other option. I’d hate to spend that type of money then have to fab more bracing.

definitely wouldn’t be adding just for looks.
