I figure with our very low payload I'd never get near max weight rating of the tire. The Recon Grappler SL as well the stock Falken WildPeaks have 2756 lbs max per tire. On the scales I had 4240 lbs over the drive axle and was quite a bit more payload than ideal. Tires felt fine running about 45 psi.

I work 8 miles from home, all city driving with stop lights and JB4 on map 5. Weekend trips have netted my higher mpgs and e30 mix has skewed my avg down as well. I see 2 or 3 mpg higher on stock tune/91 octane.

Felt a little wish-washy at 35 where the dealer had it. (tires even looked low) Isn’t too firm riding at 40 but feels more planted. Might have picked up a little mpg too.

Since day one. I live in a hilly area, very bad mpg on top of my mostly city driving.

I'm getting 22 mpg (hand calculated) but I've found that the computer generated MPG is usually .8 of a MPG below the MPG that I calculate using the gallons bought and the miles traveled. I use the same gas station and same method to fill each time. I live in the country with limited traffic and do alot of coasting to a stop though. It has become a bit of a game to me to try to squeeze as high of an MPG I can get. I have about 2,500 miles on my 2023 TRD. On my 2012 Tundra 4 X 4 SR5 with the 5.7 non-FFV, I was able to get 20 mpg at times on summer fuel.

I saw 25 on the DIC yesterday for a 45 mile trip on rural highway. Flat, warm temps, 55-60 mpg with virtually no stops. That is my high water mark for any trip in 10.5k miles.

Picked up my new 2024 Tundra platinum today. On the 70 mile trip home I got 20.6 mpg.
This was all highway at 70mph. Very happy with that!!

I love my new Tundra but will someone please tell me the fuel mileage gets better... I didn't buy it for the mileage and do not expect it to be a Prius, but wow!!! My 2020 Tundra 5.7 gets better mileage.

This has to be how you are driving, or mods. In-city stop and go I get better than this. Also, stop using Eco and use normal or sport. You can see my post in this thread comparing Eco, Normal, and Sport.

Honestly, are you drag racing from light to light?! ;)

I did switch to ECO thinking it would help. I will definitely switch it back to NORMAL and see if that helps. Those are all highway miles !!

That is pretty crappy. The lift and 35’s are not going to help. You have a break in period. I get better mileage burning premium. Eco is only for the highway with CC. Don’t use it in town.

I knew the 35's would hurt a little but not that much. I will definitely give premium a try.

I get about 13 mpg city driving normal with flow of traffic. I don't use engine start stop feature, but when I do, it does help to gain maybe 1-2 mpg especially when idling at red lights for 30-60 seconds.

It is very disappointing to have the most modern and advanced v6 TT engine and get such poor fuel economy in the city. I was getting the same from my 10 year old Ram with v8 Hemi.

On the highway it's much better though, I get 17-18 mpg when driving normal (up to 75mph), or about 15-16mpg when driving faster at 80-85mph.

I'm really looking forward upgrading to hybrid as I got 19mpg city and 21 mpg highway with it when test driving it for a few hours.

Hybrid may be an option for me. I didn't want a Limited (or higher)though. If I could get to 15 I would be satisfied. I'm really torn because I LOVE everything else about the truck.

When I switched from the stock tires to 275/70-18 I lost about 1mpg. When I switched to 295/70-18 I lost another 2mpg. But the new tires sure look good! I can squeak 20mpg cruising at 55 but that’s about it.

Around 13.5mpg combined on 87 octane. Have 275/65/20 Nitto recons and 2/1 lift. Prior to tires and lift, it was 16mpg.

Going from Foutain, CO to Fort Collins, CO on I25 it measured 23.1mpg at various speeds, then from Fort Collins, CO to Buffalo, Wy it was at 16.1mpg at 80mph and wind, after all I was in Windyoming... Didn't check after that what the final leg into MT was. 23 Platinum Hybrid stock suspension & tires and OD at 8808.

What is your hand calculated mpg? (bigger tires throws the computer off/lower) I find no difference in MPG from Eco to Norm. A/C is more limited in Eco as well as a different shift pattern that doesn’t rev as high between gears. At 6K mi. Im getting 18/21. (All stock)
