    Alright guys, here's the dilemma.

Truck is currently in the shop from hitting a deer... but, now I need to figure out my suspension. I'll preface by saying it will be a commuter mostly, but I do ride dirt bikes, camp, etc. so I do end up on dirt/gravel roads pretty regularly. I'd do more of it, just unsure of the area thus far.

So, here's where the fun starts. I used to drive a Tacoma. I miss my little race-car pickup handling.

I can quite possibly get around a 50% discount on Fox 2.0 shocks, all around. Or I can go the standard 5100 route in the front, and not touch the rear.

I would like to level it out, and leave a slight bit of rake. I want to go with 275/70-18's, but the tire i'm leaning toward isn't recommended on a 9" rim, and I'm pretty set on rim, so I may have to bump to a 295/70-18, although I really don't want to.

Any thoughts? Would you go with the Fox 2.0's depending on discount? Does anybody have experience with them on Tundras? Obviously the 5100's are tried and true, and get plenty of love.

I would go with the Fox. Can you get a discount on 2.5's?

Likely, but then I believe I'd be getting into swapping UCA's and such, and I don't want to start down that road.

I would check the wheel and tire page on here, they did a kick ass job with the write ups.

With 295 tires, you will most likely need 3" lift, and would require the upper control arm replacement anyway if you want the ball joint to live.

You can never have to much shock, even on a road warrior.

Eh, who needs ball joints anyways.

But, I'm planning on a +18 offset wheel, so that should push me out from the UCAs, then it'd just be clearing the fender...I'm thinking I'd probably be okay doing the CMC, but haven't decided yet.

    Aren't most 2.5 coilovers adjustable?

Actually all coilovers are adjustable. You can always buy any set of coilovers and adjust them to give you less than 3" of lift.

Not all are. For instance, no OEM coilovers on Tundras are.

I would get 2.5's if you could.. the weight of our trucks really do call for it. UCA's arent required for 2.5. If your alignment cant get where it needs to be then, yes, get UCAs. Or if you want a stronger joint and the cool factor.

Well, to me, when most people refer to coilovers and lifting, adjustable coilovers come to mind.
