Anyone running Blizzak LT winter tires? Best pressures?

I just mounted Blizzak LT265/70R18s on Method wheels for winter. Maximum inflation on sidewall is 80PSI with OEM at 35 on door jamb.

Anyone have these and what pressures have you found to be the best balance of ride, wear and performance? Most concerned about winter performance over the other two. When I have to go into work I can't call off if the roads are bad.

From what I've read I'm thinking of starting at 40-50 PSI and check wear and handling in weather but that's just a guess.

    Thanks.

I have those exact tires and I run 50psi when I mount them early November, and let them naturally drop in pressure as the temps drop until 35psi, then maintain them at that PSI. They will fluctuate between 35-40psi with temps and as they warm up from driving. No real evidence or science behind it, but thats what I do and its worked well as we get into my 3rd winter with the truck.

Thank you! Exactly the real world info I was looking for. One other thing - I usually run empty and never tow. But I do have (6) 60# tube sand in the bed over the rear axle for winter. Do you usually run empty or with weight (or would that even matter)?

Thanks again - I appreciate the rapid response.

When I throw on my Blizzaks, I also put 4 50# sandbags over the rear axle as well. I rarely tow, but I do use the bed for hauling chopped wood, furniture, and supplies for work at least once a week. The sand weight over the rear axle when empty really does help make the truck feel planted in the winter and more confident without 4x4. But honestly, the tires do 90% of the work. The deep channels that run the circumference of the tire help cut through the slush and snow to keep it tracking straight.

All good; thanks! That's what I'll go with...
