I'm sure this has been asked and answered, but I'm new here and couldn't find the thread, but...

Does anyone know how to permanently disable the maintenance warning message? I have my own system to remind me and this coming on is annoying, especially when the mechanic forgets to reset it.

And no, this is not in the manual.

    Thanks

yo i get what you r referring too, though this site is extremely useful so far, there's definitely some jackasses. its too bad the admin doesnt screen some of these replies, it wastes everyones time and thought, to have to weed through some of these obnoxious fucsstics, but so far its been worth it for me. i really appreciate the depth, detail, and knowledge to be found here! would be a worthless
site if all of us were fucstics!

i did some digging and found nothing in regards to PERMANENTLY disable the maintenance light. alot of info on this forum, if it can be done good chance there would be an answer readily available on how to do it. im still trying to get the seatbelt warning permanently disabled on my 08, but i was able to get the horn to stop sounding when i used the key fob to lock and unlock the doors.

I don't know about permanently disabling the light but if you set your mileage recorder to trip a turn the key off hold the button down for your mileage and turn the key on you will see five lights and they will disappear one at a time when they are gone let off the button turn the key back off and start the truck and the light will go off for another thousand miles it's there to remind you to do your maintenance

    Alot of them
If you do the reset procedure like that, it resets the full cycle, not just for 1000 miles.
