It's perfectly OK over Corroseal. In fact, if you look closely you can still see rust spots after your treatment. Rustoleum if you must, but Rust Encapsulator (or POR-15) is better.

The link that I attached was for Internal Frame Coating. Maybe it didn't take...

Just kidding! Got them off rockauto. $542 bucks. Let's see if this fixes my "big block with a cam" idle.

Sweet! Sounds like we’re dealing with the same thing. Did yours throw a code? I’m trying to get mine to clear naturally but it hasn’t yet and I’ve driven 300 miles. Running smooth as butter though with new Denso Plugs and Coils, oh, and Orange Valve Covers.

Besides, they now match my new dash colors. Nothing like rolling in the Holiday season like a Christmas Tree dash.

Damn truck runs like a bat out of hell yet won’t clear the mis code P0308:bananadead:

Well all 8 coils are brand new Denso, and I’m almost positive it isn’t missing, it is running so smooth, you can’t even feel it idle.

Now that the ECM has disabled all my traction Nannie’s, she does an awesome burnout. Held her right at 6k smooth as butter. The 2UZ is very happy at high RPM’s. I think sounds better than an LS when it bounces off the rev stopper.

I like your orange valve covers. They provide some much needed life to what has to be (in my opinion) the dullest engine bay ever. Nice work.

Right right, that's why when I suggested it prior, I also mentioned while swapping #8 pack with #6 pack - because defects do happen! - also pull the #8 plug and give it a once-over. Maybe that plug is loose, or something hinky is going on with it, like maybe the spring from the old coil pack stuck onto the tip of the old plug and you're double-springing it? Again, stupid annoying shit that can happen but usually doesn't. And honestly, the backfire could be causing one or both of the other codes in reality... I think a few of us on here know someone that happened to with injectors, leaving behind an o-ring from an old injector, leading to double-ring action...

I cleared it immediately after I swapped in new coils, and instantly the P0308 came back. I drove it about 300 miles this week, and cleared the codes about an hour ago and drove it around, so far nothing popped back up.

I also checked, and over about 1,000 miles I haven’t lost any coolant, so that’s good.

I’m not sure I’m out of the woods. I haven’t tossed the old cheapy radiator that blew up on me. I took a look again at it, and literally the plastic looks like it dissolved from the inside out into like a graphite powered that was suspended in the coolant. I’m not sure if this sludge is trapped anywhere in the system.

The radiator was on the truck when I got it, but just another reminder to only use OEM, Denso or Aisin parts.

Not sure if it has any codes. My check engine light is burnt out. I should probably buy some new bulbs for my dash and hvac too. Nice job on the powder coating; I wanna do mine eventually. It was only natural to do it on the SHOs.

You're right, I had not. It's definitely a big improvement over my First Gen. which is a great example of function over form.

You cannot actually see the engine of most modern vehicles. The 3rd Gen is a web of hoses and tubes hiding a generally blah looking V6 engine underneath a plastic cover. Not that it really matters what it looks like, as long as it works.

Nearly finished, just have to button some things up and get the steering rack back in place.

Fell free to make fun of me for the monroe quick struts, I bought them basically right after I got my truck (1 year ago) before I knew any better, because whatever was in there was on it's last legs... I know better now but I'm still cheap. If they really are that bad, hopefully it will motivate me to crack open my wallet for something nicer.

Funny thing, I was in Denver last weekend and was going to see if they had any on hand lol... but they were closed.
