The infamous day is upon us, when stuff goes on sale for 10, 20, 30% off or more. It’s when I scored my coilovers for $800 bucks and SPC uppers for $480 or whatever last year. I think.

Just curious what kinda cool stuff Other 1st gen’ers are looking at getting specific for your trucks between now and 12/1? Anything cool?

I’m running short on things I need for the truck, but also have a little extra cabbage in the truck slush fund, so … I’m thinking out loud here!

After a brief hiatus for a couple years, it looks like Baja Designs finally brought back their black friday rebate deal. It might mean that i’ll have to buy a pair of Squadron Sports.

I was also looking the Coastal winch bumpers. They are having a 15% off BF sale too. My memory might be failing, and i could totally be wrong, but from what i can recollect their bumpers just jumped up in price from less than a month ago?...maybe around 10~12%? Someone please correct me if i’m wrong .

The sensible things to order would be new bulbs for the 3rd brake light white lamps. Andddd some plastic clips for my driver door seal…

But where’s the fun in being sensible :anonymous:

Hang tight. I bought the packing crap, but dealing with a sick 10yo since Wednesday (Flu A), and no good deed goes unpunished, it appears I’ve got it now too. You know, exactly what you want when you’ve got elderly family showing up for Thanksgiving tomorrow and you’ve got $250 lined up in food to boot. He’s the majority of the reason I’ve been home enough to get things done to the truck this weekend, I’m stuck here bored out of my mind, flying solo for the weekend. (EDIT: Just so you know I’m not BS’ing you….)

I mean, Serra messaged out saying they'd have BF sales, but didn't provide specific coupons, and it looked like what they sent me was dealership-wide, so I glossed over it.

No (real) break. I see a supposedly 31% "discounted" price for the part I need, that is $3 higher than the everyday price at my local Toyota parts counter.

Also, is it true I cannot search for parts on McGeorge Ourisman without filling in all my info and joining a mailing list. I'm desperate so I'd do that... except there's a drop down that wants me to specify which Ourisman dealership. :notsure:

The part I need, for a 2014 Avalon is 58831-07040-C0. The "console garnish" that includes two cup holders. I need it in black.

Thank you! This price is what my local Toyota parts homie can sell it to me for all the time. But after you posting this, and @shifty`helping me behind the scenes, I guess it's time I accept that this really is the best price I'm likely to find. Thank you, Guys!

The only other advantage to buying locally in person is, if you order in person and the wrong part arrives after they assure you it’s right, they can reorder and send the wrong part back, typically without question or hassle.

If you order online from Serra or others and it’s the wrong part, even if it’s not your mistake, you have virtually no recourse outside of chargeback. I actually went thru this with Eric Francis at Serra Toyota of Decatur. They bagged an item with the wrong sticker - I got 4 mud aprons for the front suspension, forward left/righr, rearward left/right. Each is a different part. I got four bags and each had a different part number sticker, but two parts were exactly the same - totally their mistake. But Eric refused to fix the issue after we went back and forth for months. Kept stalling and delaying, until after I’d already ordered the correct replacement part locally, and my local dealership parts person looked at my bags and straight up told me, “what he wrote to you is complete bullshit, he’s lying to you about how/why this happened, it’s absolutely their fault…”

That was with a part where THEY made the mistake, not me. This is also why I won’t shop for parts or let anyone else shop for parts with Serra of Decatur. I haven’t had issues with Serra of Birmingham, just Decatur where that worthless single-cell amoeba Eric F works.
