I'm kinda back on the fence with paint color. To do a good job, like the door jams and stuff would need to be painted, and that's gonna drive up the price. I may just respray the factory color. I'm gonna talk to the body shop guy about options and costs when I pick up the quarter panel from him

A repaint of different color will be expensive, jams and all that drive up the price. I vote for original color and BLACK wheels, it’ll look sharp.

Could always just wrap it if you’re going to wheel it. Be a lot easier to clean off and less maintenance for scratches and such. It may only last 5-7 years or so.

It's a nice one with a few harder routes you can choose to take. But mostly an intermediate trail. Our family cabin is just below the trail system, the lake dumps into a creek that runs through our property

Oh, the body shop just called and my Quarter Panel and Quarter Extension arrived! I'll have to go rent a truck again from Home Depot to pick it up like I did the Tailgate. But it was super cheap

Also, he said they don't usually accept non-insurance paint jobs just because they get so much. But they usually quoat $4-600 per panel, full respray $4-6k. Said my cheapest bet is Macco paint job. May do that...assuming I do every bit of prep work for it myself

I’ve heard Macco paint quality is garbage. Something to keep in mind.

Ya same. I'll research around, I'm fine with spending $1-3k on it. $5k would be my limit though. Still gotta supercharge it after all! Lol

Some Maacos can give you whatever you’re willing to pay for. Hacked out, no prep color change up to premium, better than oe refinish work. The one in Northglenn is such a location. Well run and some good techs. They’re franchised so quality varies wildly.

Old Rear Air Bags vs New Eibach Load Leveling Spring System

You can tell the Airbags were replaced at some point because of the "Made in Amerca" sticker. And one of them was leaking.

Removed the OEM compressor also, one of the two bolts snapped...

After poking around with a screwdriver, pretty much same as the front rust wise. Not good, not terrible.

I was able to remove every rear control arm nut a lot easier than I was anticipating. They did require breaker bars and some effort, but they all broke loose. Even all the bolts spun, so none of those are seized. Leaving all the arms in for now because, well...I've learned my lesson before. Don't want the axle to flop all over the place.

    Plan is:

Address rear rust and POR15 it
    Install new rear suspension
    Remove quarter panel
Straighten what needs to be straight underneath
    Install new body panels

I've never done body work before let alone weld anything, so this will all be a learning process for me

My fear with welding and body work is twofold:
Messing up electronic bits in the vehicle being welded on
Warping the metal from excessive heat
    Oh I lied, one more

Lol fire is the main concern! Luckily there's not any electronics near where I'll be cutting and welding. The Spot welder is heavy! So I have to rig up a counter weight pulley system from the garage rafters. But there will be a few areas that require rosette welds. Those are gonna be the main test of new found abilities
