Didn’t catch caster or camber, they never do either on my truck. Most give you the old toe’n’go. When I get new upper and lower arms, I’ll get a real one done. But those are easier than toe. A digital level / inclinometer can give degrees reading.

I paid $180 for custom alignment on my truck. And they touched it up when I bitched, for free, but I'm still not happy.

Still, there are shops around ATL that charge $250 to lift aligned stuff. $125-150 is pretty normal for standard alignment around here.

@bmf4069 does Ironman have that weird cutoff at the rear like this? I mean I clearly see "freshly painted", but ... that just looks goofy as hell to me, can't imagine it's thgat way from the factory too?

Nevermind, found the tell. I thought it was weird they weren't showing the truck with the doors open. That's probably why... Truck was originally all-red.

The 4x4 shops here only charge $90 but they can't get it right either. They WILL NOT touch the upper control arms. Defeats the entire purpose of going to that type of specialty shop.

I'd like to find someone in ATL area that's willing to touch uppers and doesn't charge $200+

Man, I am eager to get a FGT. I drove 500 miles one way to check out what was supposed to be a minty southern truck at a big dealership. The internet sales man sent me pictures of the frame at the rear crossmember that was spotless. I could see it had some cheesy spacer lift, but I was sold on the truck so I made the trip.
    IMG_20231118_191322.png

I was cool with some cosmetic issues based on the asking price, but then I crawled under it and saw this... in exactly the same spot, on both frame rails.
    PXL_20231118_190251425.jpg

    PXL_20231118_190302864.jpg

Dude! What in the world? Both sides of the frame were clearly cut and patched like this. Upon further investigation the VIN indicated it was a 2wd. I suspect the frame was damaged when it was a 2wd and somebody spliced the front frame rails from a 4wd truck and brought over the entire drivetrain with it instead of straightening the 2wd frame and doing a 4wd swap. I still offered to buy the truck, but what I was willing to pay was much lower than the asking price since everything else under it was SPOTLESS.

In my 20 years of traveling out of state to buy vehicles, this is the first one I ever walked away from. But hey, the sales manager offered me a bottle of water for the drive home o_O

At least you caught it. It hurts my soul to see how many f'n people miss what I'd find glaringly obvious, then come here to vent/whine/strategize.

Curious, when you pointed that shit out, what'd the guy say? 8 hours each way is no minor feat. That's some bullshit right there.

I need to find a new "area" to store these so they don't multiply like this FFS.
I even kept 3 out for a special "goin green" undercoating job I have planned...
Found one place (Tractor Supply) to take them all in, and used their dumpster to dump the empties.
Good for another 6-7 years now!

I crawled out from under the truck and told the salesman that I had a big concern about the structural integrity of the frame. He looked at me puzzled and I mentioned the cut/patch job then pointed out the plate. He said, "Oh, I didn't see that when I took those pictures for you, I am going to talk to my manager." The manager came out and said he was sorry I had concern about the truck, then asked how it drove on the test drive. I told him I didn't bother with a test drive and he blabbered something about how their inspection didn't turn up anything, the truck drives really straight and said they had $8k into the truck. He then tried to sell me a RAM with 150k miles

The salesman did tell me it had a crankshaft position sensor code while I was driving down, but the truck ran great. I immediately suspected the serpentine belt was gnawing away at the sensor wiring after a botched tbelt install. My suspicion was right, but I never let them know it.

It was one hell of a long day. The worst part is it also a wasted day for my buddy who drove me down to buy the truck. At least I got to eat lunch at an amazing hole in the wall mexican restaurant.

So... my FBMP cherry is fully popped, :yay: that's a vortex of time suck holy shit!
It's been educational though. So many of our trucks dead way TOO early from the frame rot :(
Imagine if they had engineered/coated it better, just how much more legendary they would be?

It’s amazing that here in MA, NOBODY wants to be responsible and take back anything more than used oil, and many complain about that even though it’s the law. Same thing with gas station selling beer not wanting to take their empties.

Now I get to drive to NH to my local tractor supply house and get rid of gear oil. Thank you, @BroHon !

Just called Tractor Supply and they told me to bring it around back to the door by the loading dock and knock on the door asking for Guido.

Sounds kinda sketch but whatever. :spy:
