Hello- I purchased a nice LIMITED TRD OFFROAD PACKAGE (2022) with 17K miles... it has the JBL system but ONLY ONE SPEAKER- the middle on the dash- has any sound coming out of it.
I've looked in the computer to attempt to trouble shoot the problem but it seem all I can find are balance control, treble, bass type stuff- nothing specific. Does anyone have suggestions? Thank you!

Sounds like a dealership prob. Falls under basic warranty.

Same results with all audio sources ? e.g. AM, FM, Bluetooth

How about the tweeters that are in the ceiling above the front seats? I don't hear anything coming out from those...

I have an appointment with the Toyota dealer this Saturday- I will follow up as to how Toyota deals with these issues.
Thank you to everyone that commented.

I believe those are microphones, not tweeters.

All of them are microphones? There's two above the driver and two above the passenger

Good question. My Platinum has the JBL system but I dont recall seeing two above the driver. I have a loaner SR5 right now with the base system and it has one microphone in the ceiling above the driver and passenger so I cant go out an check.

I didn't hear back on my question whether all audio sources are affected but, an option you have is to perform a system reset via Settings | Info & Security. See page 69 of the Multimedia Owner's Manual. Bear in mind that, if performed, you would lose all personal data within the Audio Multimedia System and all customized settings within that same system would be reset to Factory Defaults.

Yep... I got one smaller speaker grill and slightly larger one above both driver and passenger seats. In my 1794 with jbl

I would imagine that one of these is a mic and other one is a tweeter, but I can never hear it even though I place my ear on top of it and turn up the music! I have surround mode off as it sounds terrible with surround mode on

Could you guys check your tweeters above the driver seat in ceiling and let me know?

As I understand it, they are both mics ... One for the Navigation System and the other for connected Telephones. Still researching however ...

Mics above your head are for 2 functions, voice and ANC (noise Cancelling).

    Good afternoon-
I had an appointment yesterday (Saturday) with the dealership regarding issues: (JBL) speakers no sound coming through the back 5 speakers (including wolfer), etc. I bought the truck with aprox 17,625K miles (bumper- bumper 36K or 3 years). 1. They are replacing the broken plastic piece (driver's side) by the seat controls. 2. They found settings in the MULTIMEDIA to power the sound to all 12 speakers- it made a significant difference but I expected a more power from 12 speakers. Nonetheless, it sounds better than it did- I am happy. 3. They told me that I would have to call TOYOTA's customer service to get them to enter my computer to DELETE the previous owner's names and personal info- they apparently had no way of doing that at the dealership- odd. 4. I had read that some dealerships had replaced the middle console due to rattling... which some had complained about on the 2022's. Mine was ok- maybe a little bit of play when the lid is down but nothing distracting or that was making noise. TOYOTA said they would have to replace the entire console... and that that was impossible. 5. There are apparently two recalls outstanding on this truck of which Toyota- as of yet- has not resolved. I am only familiar with 1 of the 2 recalls; the first is a gas line (?) that leaks and that is a fire hazard (the second I am not familiar with the details). This dealer told me that since the 2022's had come out that they only had ONE situation that caused a problem. Apparently the owner had found gas leaking on the concrete and had the truck towed to the dealership for repair. 6.The oil was new but a little low so they were kind enough to top it off for me. The plastic piece was ordered so for that I will have to return for install. I will call Toyota on the "delete the previous owner's information" thing and get that taken care of. 7. There is also a crease in the passenger seat that I had Toyota take a look at thinking it was a possible tear that had begun from the previous owner; however, they told me that actually it was the way in which the seams were fitting. They recommended to take pictures and send them to Toyota so that I could plant the seed that if the upholstery tears- post the warranty- they already knew of my concern.
I wanted to give the outcome to my concerns I had risen on my original thread- thank you for everyone's input.
    Have a great Sunday and God Bless!Plastic broken_ driver's side.jpg CREASE (driver's side).jpg

On the 2nd item, there's plenty of power available via the JBL head-end; it's the speakers that are subbar. I faced the same situation with my 2018 Tacoma with the JBL system; I popped the door panels and found that the speakers were junk. I replaced them with high-end JBL speakers and a Fosgate sub from Crutchfield, and it made a world of difference. The JBL speakers in the Gen 3 Tundra appear to be a bit better but are still subpar in my view. On the 3rd item, your dealer is wrong ... I faced the same situation with my 2023 Tundra two weeks ago. I found this video, sent it to my dealer sales rep, and within 10 minutes the system was reset to factory defaults ...

The speakers are all paper and the “sub” isn’t even in an enclosure. The whole JBL and premium sound system is a joke.

You’re better off scraping all of it and building something from ground up if SQ is what you’re after.
Glad they were able to get your squared away for the rest though.

After several months of wait... the part finally came in and my driverside seat is fixed!
This Saturday I go in to fix (temporary fix) the fuel line issues Toyota is having with the 2022's. I hope that goes well!

On the fuel line recall ... In case the Service Dept didn't make you aware, the fuel tank must be at 1/4 or less, and the work takes ~4 hours to complete, at least according to the Toyota dealer I take mine to. I wasn't made aware of these things ahead of time and so after showing up for the work I had to reschedule because my fuel tank was at 3/4 full.

I specifically asked my dealer about the gas tank level and they told me it didn't matter. Took them all day to get the job done. I was apparently one of the first ones they did.

Yes sir- I had mentioned the gas tank level to the dealer advisor and he told me that was a good idea:) He did state that the job would take all day- assuming the job goes as planned. He stated that they had already performed a number of these temporary recalls so the techs should have a decent handle on the job- I will feel better with the actual fix but this temporary will do for now. I have 21K on the truck now.
