Hello all, new to the forum and Im sure this has been discussed plenty of times but I looked through 3 pages and didn’t see any. Any help with programming a new keyfob? I have tried the two from googling, the open door twice thing and the lock/unlock 5 time thing. Neither of these will work and tried for a good half hour to get them to so pretty sure at least once I got it right and nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just purchased a 2009 tundra ext cab. Thanks again!

I had to go to the dealer to get an aftermarket keyfob programmed. I also tried the door program thing. It didn't work for me either.

Call a local locksmith - they often have the software to do it and in many are way cheaper than the dealership. Nissan wanted to charge me $400 for doing it when I had my Titan.....I called a local locksmith after buying a FOB online and he charged me $75.

Buy Techstream from Amazon and install the software on a PC. Use that to program the key and remote.

If you're programming the key and not just the fob, verify that the chip matches your key, because there are multiple chips (such as G and "dot") that are incompatible with each other.

I have one these, and it works great. For anyone considering purchasing one, be advised, the Techstream software is jailbroke. I had to contact the merchant to get it to function on my laptop. (YMMV). But it works well, and I've programmed 2 fobs with it as well as pulled codes on my Tundra.

The reviews made me a little hesitant to buy it because I’m a little computer illiterate. Going to check with my mechanic friend to see if he can do it before I try and tackle the Techstream deal.

Most locksmith shops will have a (licensed) Techstream setup and can whip out fobs and keys easily, and the parts and labor are considerably cheaper than a dealership. If your mechanic friend has access to a Techstream setup, they should be able to get you taken care of.

The first time navigating through Techstream is not intuitive, especially if you're not familiar with the terminology and vehicle processes. I do IT for a living, and I still had to YouTube it.
