Hell yeah, more goodies. And one I forgot about.

SuspensionMAXX new bushings arrived for my extended links, AND they sent a free hat! Hell yeah! Too bad snapbacks suck when you’ve got a shaved head :(

Also got a plug-and-play power-add tee harness for my new shell from @daveeasa just to make my power situation more permanent. Glad all this is coming now, before I’ve got a week off work.

I've met a few people who think of Alabama as a foreign country. :notsure:

But they really haven't travelled there and just make ignorant stereotypical assumptions. Personally, I've only been there to visit Auburn University myself.

Yeah I'm curious too. What a bizarre rule. Are they going to pay for this vehicle?

I'm starting a new job that comes with a car allowance but they don't care what I drive. It just has to look respectable.

That's where I met my wife! Up until that point, she was just a cousin!

I made that argument with management. He used to have a Tundra too and made the same argument. "It's more built in America than Ford or Chevy." Doesn't matter. Hahaha

It's an arbitrary rule made by the VPs of the company. "We're a Georgia family owned business representing an American product so managers have to have American vehicles. We support Georgia and America."

Seems like they are more enforcing an idea of what an "American" made vehicle is more than what actually are American made.

Just keep the Tundra and buy a Taurus or something. Toyota will never make another truck this size with a V8.

I hope that's a good job offer. There is no way in hell I'd sell my truck for a job.

They give two different monthly payments for using a personally owned vehicle, that they specify, for business use. One payment is fixed and covers car payment, insurance, and depreciation. The other payment is based on average business miles driven.

The list of allowed vehicles is pretty slim. Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and Jeep. All trucks or SUVs, no sedans.

I'm ok with it, but don't have room to keep the Tundra. And with my kids almost being driving age I definitely won't have room for a toy car soon.

My Tundra has only really ever been used by me as a fun car. I've always had a company truck and drove the Tundra for fun or running around.

I'd rather see it go to a good enthusiast home than put it in storage until I can tinker on it again.

I'm sorry, I thought here in GA, we lived in the the land of freedom. Sounds like they're doing some pretty bullshit oppressive garbage, what a bunch of commies. They are exactly what's wrong with this place.

But I guess you gotta do what you gotta do to put food on the table. Woulda been an immediate nope from me unless I had no other choice, or they paid 50%+ what I'm making currently. Already sounds like a miserable place to work.

But other than that ... yeah, that's not legal.

Yes, except some manufacturers will label their headquarter location while the vehicle is built at a plant in another state. Like Ford is headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan while the Super Duty is manufactured in Avon Lake, Ohio.

For our trucks was one factory better than the other?
Did one built better quality trucks than the other?

Back when our trucks were being produced, Toyota had plants in Indiana, Kentucky, Fremont, CA and Canada. I don't know that our Tundras were produced in any other plant than Indiana.

For the money I'll be making at the new position I'll learn to live. It's actually a pretty good place to work. I've been at the company for almost 8 years and they provided the 'business only' trucks. My new position doesn't.

Considering the American manufacturer I work for (think big yellow dirty diesel equipment) you would understand their desire for managers to represent other American manufacturers and products.

Besides, they're paying me back for the car payment, insurance, depreciation, and business miles. If I get the right truck I'll make money that way too.
