I purchased this 2018 Tundra 4.6 as a Christmas present for my best friend,
I am hiding it at my in-laws house until we get closer to Christmas.
Will try to post a photo in a day or two of his truck. I am very sick with Bronchitis and my wife has banished me to sleep on the couch, given how sick I am; driving 1 state over to pickup his truck is not a good idea right now so I will just have the dealership order a transporter to send it.

I purchased it from an Audi dealership (out of state) so I am not familiar with Tundras in general.

What trim level of Tundra has these chrome front and rear bumper caps?
I do not know what else to call them (English is not my first language).

I believe most trim levels have the chrome bumper caps except for base SR, TRD Pro, TRD Sport, and Nightshade (was that what they called the blackout edition?). Else, chrome bumper e d caps are pretty standard on Trd Off-road, SR5, Limited, 1794, Platinum, etc. Though, someone please correct me if I am wrong.

More telling would be the grill if you can post a pic, seating surface (leather or cloth and color), and options packages. Or maybe post the listing or a few pics and we could figure out more details.

Sorry to hear about your bronchitis - that can be the pits. Hope you heal up quickly.

I will try to get a photo of it in a day or two, obviously need to be feeling better, or have my father in law text me a photo of D's Tundra.

The irony is I am Jewish and do not celebrate Christmas, but I live in a Christian country now so I think it is fair to respect the day of Christ.
Merry day of Christ to you all.

Thank you, I actually purchased D's truck from the Audi dealership in Huntsville. I live in Nashville (Brentwood) and he lives in Lebanon (about half hour away).

The trip driving to Huntsville was pleasant, not stressful at all. Had I not been driving my car (alone) I would have driven his truck back but I have yet to master the art of driving two vehicles at the same time.

Chrome front and rear eliminates the Limited which has painted rear and chrome front. Likely it's an SR5 since it's all chrome and has the 4.6.

I understand that its not everyday that you hear of someone buying a truck for his best friend but D is like the brother I never had.
We deployed to Iraq together in 2016 and 2018.

Both him and his parents did a lot for me when I moved to the States so since I am in the position to afford getting him this Tundra, I did.

If you have nothing else of value to add to this thread, please excuse yourself from my conversations.

    Welcome from NY.

Hopefully you will feel better soon.

Type in the VIN# on the toyota owners website and it will give you all the information on the truck.

Thank you sir, speaking to an advisor now about getting a window sticker for him so he can see what trim level it is and what features it has.

Its a base SR5, I had a feeling being that it was a 4.6L that it was base but for a base model it is actually very nice on the inside.

I suppose nowadays even a "base model" has top tier safety and tech that was only available on Cadillacs and Mercedes two decades ago.

SR5 is actually a good step up from base, so it should have some decent accoutrements. Not Cadillac level, but way more than a base 90’s work truck with AM radio and manual windows.

And if your friend gets a case of mod-itis, it’s not hard to upgrade a lot of the systems as most of the truck is usually pre wired for thinks like tow mirrors with built in blinkers and such.

It's his truck so what he does with it is no concern of mine, but it is already nice. I do not mod either of my cars they are already nice from the factory.

Its nice on the interior and exterior, has cloth seats but I am sure he can either live with them as is or get one of those leather interior shops to cut the cloth off and sew leather on.

I wanted to show my wife the paint correction detail that I had done on my (weekend) toy, D's truck is getting a paint correction in the background of this photo that I took on my phone (mid cough fit).

The colors of both his Tundra and my Gran Turismo are close enough to practically match.

Pardon the grossly stained garage floor, I have not had a chance to clean it up yet; plan to do so soon.

Finally got D's truck "detailed", I am very lazy and hire other people to do this for me but I did not have the time to book a detailer so I decided to wash his truck yesterday. I am not a professional detailer so my attempt to use spray wax looks like shit.

My misses got me a foam canon a while ago, good intention on her part but I do not detail my own cars so I let D use it to clean his truck when he stopped by my house to have dinner with wife and I.
The only time she cooks is when company is over, I have to eat out all the time due to her never cooking...

The Turtle wax that I used is allegedly able to be applied while the truck is still wet so not sure how this will turn out.

Not everyday that your best friend and self have vehicles in matching colors, the shade of his truck's paint is a bit darker that my Maserati's gunmetal grey (Grigio Metallic) but it's close enough.

My best friend D (the one whom I bought the 2018 SR5 for) was involved in a major accident yesterday morning.
He is was banged up in the accident but he is home from the ER with no serious injuries.
    His Tundra is totaled.

The other drive (at fault) hit D's truck head on at about 65MPH, it is a miracle that D was not seriously hurt or killed.
