I proudly own a 2014 Tundra Crewmax Limited in MGM. I figured I might as well start up a build page so I can keep track of everything that I've done. When I built my '09 Tacoma, I put over $10k into it and I couldn't even remember everything that I had done when I traded it in. I do the majority of the modifications myself just by following threads and watching YouTube and also with some help from others.

    How she sits today...

    Modifications (in order)
    -Magnaflow 50 series exhaust
    -Tinted tail lights
-Hard wired Passport Escort radar detector with mirror mount
    -Kobalt tool box with carpet
-Color matched mirror caps and door handles
-Interior chrome color matched to MGM
    -Dual 10" ported Fox Box
-Two 10" Rockford Fosgate P3 shallows
-Rockford Fosgate Power 1000 watt rms mono-block amp for subs
    -********* Recurve EZQ
-Kicker 6.5" three way speakers for the front doors
-DB Drive 6.5" component speakers for the rear doors.
-Planet Audio 75 watts x 4 rms for the component speakers
-Window Tint : 35% front doors, 5% over factory tint in rear and eyebrow
-Color-matched grill surround with Grillcraft grill
-26" custom wheels with 305/30/26 tires (ended up being bent when bought)
-Morimoto Mini D2S retrofit kit with 60mm halo
-Red Sport 26" wheels with Durun 295/30/26 tires
-Debadged 5.7 and Tundra badges, left Limited badge

This was my last build. A 2009 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport[IMG]

    The day I bought her...

After installing the Magnaflow 50 series muffler. I wanted a little sound but not too much because I didn't want to hear the drone inside the cab. I love the way it sounds for now... I might go louder in the future.

My tinted tail lights using VHT Nightshades and this thread from TacomaWorld----> http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/lighting/84694-how-tinting-tail-lights-right-way-pics.html

I finally had a day of some nice weather so I could get some painting done to get rid of all that ugly chrome. I used plasti-dip on the bumpers and mirror caps and I color matched the front Toyota emblem, along with all the interior chrome.

Here is an up close shot of the Toyota badge on the steering wheel.

My flush mounted bass control knob for the Recurve EZQ... the location is perfect so I can change it without sitting up to reach for it. (kind of hard to see but it's left of the white badge)

My Foxbox paired with two 10" Rockford Fosgate P3 Shallows
    [IMG]

My Processor and both amps for my highs and subs
    [IMG]

I tried painting the chrome grill surround myself and the base coat turned out great, but the clear coat hated me. This is after I painted everything before I attempted to cut it. Cool thing about it was how the grill came apart so easily for painting.

Cheapest mod of them all and I didn't have to do anything! It helps in locating where I am supposed to add fuel when empty.
I was only mad for about a day... I then realized it gave me more of a reason to have the bumpers painted to match at the same time. That comes next along with my lowering kit.

How she sits today... Since the last pic I added a Grillcraft black mesh grill, color matched door handles and mirror caps, and a color matched grill surround. Also custom 26" wheels wrapped in 305/30/26 tires. I removed the front mudflaps so they wouldn't rub at all.

    --MORE TO COME SOON--

    Near Future Mod List
-New EQ to replace ********* EZQ
    -Color match bumpers
-LED Driving lights behind upper grill with custom mount
-2" front 4" rear lowering kit from McGaughys
    -Bigger brake kit
    -Interior blue LED's
-Color match interior with vinyl wrap
    -WeatherTech Floor mats

I like the sound of it... at low RPM's it has a really nice growl and I can hardly hear it at highway speeds. That video doesn't do it justice. No noticeable difference in power though, although I was told that it was supposed to be a small increase in MPG and HP.

Can't wait to see your build. What kind of 10's do you plan on putting in? Also a custom box, fox box, or something else?

I have a mint JL 500/1 monoblock class D amp and 2 mint 12" JL w3v2's from a previous vehicle that are just collected dust. I know I can't use the subs but I would like to find a combo that would fit the amp well. Seemed like a lot of the shallow sub's were lower watts.

I pulled these 10's and amp out of my Tacoma when I sold it. They're Rockford Fosgate P3 Shallows and the amp is a Rockford Fosgate 1000 watt monoblock class D. I ordered a ported Fox Box for the subs, and according to Fox Acoustics website, the ported box is set up perfect for the P3's. I'm still waiting on my amp for my highs and my door mounts to get in before I install everything.

Nice. I just read in another thread that you aren't getting any highs with the recurve and factory hu, that sucks. Do you have the jbl system?
Please post up some pics of your setup as it comes along!
I hope to do something similar down the road.

I have the Entune Plus head unit without the JBL. I've been in contact with the owner of ********* and he's helped me through the process of elimination finding out what was killing the sound to my speakers. As soon as I plugged in the harness for the recurve, all sound was muted and I couldn't turn it up or down (when turning volume knob display would not change). We found out that the stock amp under the passenger seat was not agreeing with the recurve harness and he said he could find a fix for it with a bypass but I decided to replace it and all my door speakers.

As soon as I get everything installed I'll definitely post up some pictures of it.

No clue... they're all linked from my Facebook and it's a public album. I can't view pics on some forums while I'm on my work computer due to safety settings.

I bought my retrofit projector kit last year on Black Friday and finally had some time off to be able to get it done. Only took me a day... It is the Morimoto mini D2S with a halo behind the shroud. The bezel is painted flat black, along with the DRL housing, and the rest is color matched MGM. I still have some adjusting to do to get the cutoff perfect, but I'll post night pics after I get it completed.IMG_4190.jpg

Now I'm just waiting on my center caps of my 26's to be painted. I just had the wheels powder coated satin black and my painter should be finishing up the center caps this week. Then I'll be ordering tires.... after that comes the lowering kit and color matched bumpers and maybe some new tail lights.

Appreciate it! I haven't either because the Tundra is what I've always wanted. And the more I customize it, the more I fall in love with it like I did with my Tacoma.

So... I got the 26's powder coated satin black and the center caps painted to match, and then had new tires put on and balanced. When I drove away the truck was shaking bad at 50mph+ and pulling to the right. I had another tire shop check it out and they shown me that all four rims are bent and that's what's causing the problems. I did buy these off of craigslist, which was my mistake, for $1000 and the powder coating cost $500. Center caps painted was $100 and install with TPMS switched over was $100. Total loss of $1700!!

I just ordered another set of brand new 26's that will be installed tomorrow. I should have done that in the first place, but next time I'll know. Here's the bent rims that will soon be trashed. Sucks because I love the way it looks.

I'm sure he knew about it... he made sure to say that the tires are bad but the rims are good so it may need a balancing when I bought them from him. He's lucky he's an hour from me and I don't have an address... :censored::rant:

Here's the new 26's that I just got put on... also, I took off the 5.7 and the Tundra badges and left the limited ones the next day(not pictured). I figured if I paid for it, might as well leave it!

Holy shit man. That is alot of money to waste. I would be pissed at the guy that sold them to you. Might even consider small claims for that price. The problem is "Sold as is" is inferred from CL sales.

I wish I still had his number or even an address. It's been a while since the sale and his number is lost in "the recent" call log a few months back. I've learned my lesson though, and won't be buying anything off of craigslist that can't be proven to be perfect at that moment. I never even thought to see if the rims were bent since they appeared perfect.
