Hi guys i plan on installing this lift soon and was wondering if any of our members have gotten it installed within the Houston area. If you could share which dealer & costs associated with the install.

Hi, can I ask where you are getting your kit and the $$...

 

Paid $2200.00 for dealer install in Washington state for the TRD lift kit. Bought kit online as well.

 

I am not familiar with deals going rates, but I am able to do my front coilers and rear shackles on my truck in a day by myself. This is taking it easy, making sure everything is done right and not to mention, on my drive way with 1 jack and 2 jack stands. The 3rd gen is no different than the previous gen. To me that seems high but then again what isn't nowadays. I can't see myself paying almost $2k for install and hope it come out right. Have you looked into actual off-road shops?

 

If you order the lift from the Canadian Toyota site as an option, it will cost you ~$9,000 bucks!

Main reason why I want the Dealer to install is to retain the 3 year warranty on the lift itself. I have heard of install rates as low as 1k which I would prefer lol but that's all hearsay until we can duplicate that price and location. Which is the reason for this post to see of actual installs done and cost.

I'm sure off road shops can install them with no doubt.

I personally dont see the lift having an issue with in the 3 years. Now my question would be, do you have to have it installed by them for the warranty? Or can an off-road shop do it and still have the warranty? I think it's bullshit that if not installed by them then no warranty. Like how hard is it to install coiler that already come pre-assembled by the manuf.

 

There is a ton of stuff included with the kit extended brake lines, axles, tie rod ends etc... not to mention the recalibration of all the Toyota safety sense equipment. I think the book time for dealers is 18+ hours. My dealer wanted the truck for 3 full days and it took that long. Looks amazing and drives incredible as well very pleased. Far more involved than an off the shelf suspension lift that others make. Just my .02

 

I agree with you its crappy that they don't honor the 3 year if they don't install it since it needs to be entered into their system maybe? I've heard that some installs were honored warranty if the dealer referred them to an outside shop or contractor?

 

Yeah, I stand corrected. It's a lot of parts. Saw then install instructions. What happened to a simple coilover swap? Holy crap.

 

Well scratch that. I thought the 3rd gen was a simple coilover swap and done. Apparently that kit is a mission in itself to install. Probably why it cost almost $2k. Man that sucks.

 

Haha yea if it was simple coil over swap ill get some friends and tackle it myself.

 

I was charged $2500 for the install. Including alignment, TPMS reset (got new wheels and tires mounted) and recalibration of the safety sensors. They would have had it done in one day but the kit had 2 left side axles instead of left and right. They also sold me the kit for $2650. Slightly more than the online prices but I didn’t have to pay for shipping. So I saved there. So al together $5100. Not the cheapest but they did awesome work and are 5 miles from my house. I am in southeastern PA.

 

Westcott Lift with Shocks is 1,099w/o tax & still need the axles that are $390each

Thanks, but wouldn't the cost of the one you mention plus axles would come out about 1.8-1.9 with taxes which isn't that far off from the full package TRD lift?

 

Is there any differences on the red vs silver axles that come on the TRD LIFT package?

call around the dealerships and ask. that is your best bet.

 

Did you already purchase the kit?

Have you gotten quotes from local off-road shops? 4wheelbrothers, duggys, teq auto solutions?

 

Haven't purchased yet. Would like the dealer to install as it retains the 3 year warranty on the lift.

update i ended up ordering the lift online from Toyota world and got it installed by adventure outfitters in Katy TX for alot less then local dealers.

 

What dealer in WA did you use? I’m in WA and want to do this too, but the couple dealers I’ve gotten quotes for were like $4k just for the labor.

I live in Katy and I didnt even know this place existed.
They need to do more to get the word out.
