Yup. WTF was the idiot that hit the STOPPED car thinking? Unless there was a medical event that precipitated that crash, they need their ass kicked.

The dipwad in the SUV (bronco?) shouldn't have had their wheels turned out to the left either, for this exact reason.

 

Yeah... the first moron, had his turn signal on for a bit, and then tapped the brakes at the last second... I'm guessing looking to merge and focusing over his/her shoulder (to the left) too long, turned attention back to the front and OH SHIT!!!!

 

Correction to that last part, looks like they were hit on the right rear corner and that pushed them left, but still, they made no effort to maintain their lane after impact.

 

Ehhh.... they got hit pretty hard; not much they could do different by the time the stun/shock wore off.... Plus by the time they unscrambled their marbles, perceived what was happening to them they were already getting hit again. Driver may have arm or wrist injuries making that difficult to navigate as well.

 

I've seen people flying up on me while I'm stopped because I pay attention to my mirrors. I've stood on my brakes and angled my wheels to go off the road instead of into oncoming traffic in preparation for the impact. Now, I was lucky, and they idiots got on the brakes quick enough to not hit me, but I was aware and bracing for the impact to minimize what it would do to others.

That bronco had a good distance to the next car, so that makes me think they were at least aware of not scrunching up, but who knows what may have taken their attention away.

I know it's an accident, and they aren't really at fault. It's 100% on the 1st idiot, but I'm pissed because I like Holden and I'm sad he has to deal with this BS because of some random idiot. It's my nightmare scenario for my truck, because I can't readily replace it. They don't make it anymore. I'm just projecting my own fear as anger here.


More than anything, I'm glad he's ok. Sean, @T-Rex266 do you know if he was alone in the truck? Is his family okay?

 

They don't make most of our trucks any more...

I hope everyone in the both of the other vehicles was okay as well, but dammit this sucks. Hopefully your mini vacay can take care of the soreness, and ease your mind. I'd offer a hug, but I'm not gay, so you get a fist bump instead.

I hope you're "lucky" and it's just the bumper, some panels, and paint. It's hard to tell how hard the impact was in the video. I'm praying for your frame and suspension bits!

 

Oof, on the suspension/tire. Totally support the push for proper repairs. Does your dealership do collision repair? You know he'd treat you right.

 

Worth the wait to have it done right. Really hope the other guys insurance is good. If he's running minimums (IDK what they are in that area) two totaled rigs plus damage to yours would eat it up damn fast.
